yes I'm sure A~chan has always been popular and good with people and Yuka pretty much has always been a background object. Nocchi on the other hand was extremely popular both in her school and during the Complete best era.

Nocchi was extremely popular at her actors school yet her only friend was A~chan. how can someone so popular have no friends? a complete lack of social skills and an absolute refusal to develop those skills. if it isn't something on a neurological level making her like this then it's likely up bringing, she was an only child but that can't be the only reason.

second of all she was by far the most popular when they were in the fan service bitter/sweet days yet still got pushed aside by the more charismatic and more sociable A~chan. Nocchi could have easily just said anything and people would have rather listened to her, not only was Nocchi the most popular but A~chan was the least. however she took the back seat and let her drive.

also nocchi dropped out of uni and acts like an aut at meet and greets two more signs of her not being able to handle social environments. a common sign of autism.

Jesus Christ, how is Nakata still Perfume's producer? Not only does he have no chemistry with them, but his change in style doesn't match the group anymore. I'll talk a little about yuka as I think she is the most intresting during the early era.

Yuka had no friends just like nocchi, not until A~chan arrived after her. Yuka still after A~chan arrived didn't become popular but with the forming of Perfume she did get noticed, not in a positive way. Yuka was bullied at her school for being in an idol group.

Yuka has always hid behind A~chan and only found friends though her during her childhood. Yuka learned to play by her strengths and to allow A~chan do deal with the charisma aspects of the Idol group.

Yuka learned to be chilled out and I think that is why she became cool, staying silent and being chill is 90% of being cool, nocchi would be cool if she didn't stumble on her words all the time and didn't get assigned autistic shitty outfits.

Yuka never enjoyed Singing but has always like Dancing it comes across with her rhythm, while she tends to be lacking in emphases when it comes to performing choreography like Nocchi and can't give it the same energy like A~chan literally always does she can how ever freestyle dance 1000x better than the others(see fake it) and she does add a whole lot of style to some dances and does add extra layers to thematic dances like night flight and cling cling. with yuka her facial expression is part of the dance which adds to it. (see spending all my time, pick me up or perfect star perfect style) while A~chan is going for the attention grab and nocchi looks like she is mentally counting the steps like a computer checking for its next directive Yuka adds charm to the dance with her stylistic stoic expressions, squinting smiles and lewd expressions.

the biggest example of Yuka knowing her strength and playing to it is how she transitions from being cute to being sexy to being elegant.

while A~chan is always trying to be that curly haired air head yuka never resorts to being that cute hat wearing baby of perfume like in the "happy!" days.

if its a party Nocchi is the autistic one that tries to stay silent yet gets dragged into every conversation to be used as a punching bag for jokes. she pretends it doesn't bother her but it does yet at the same time the attention she gets is why she came, in the end she leave the party early satisfied and goes back to never socializing for a while.

A~chan is the girl who is the spearhead of all discussions no matter how little she knows about it. everyone loves her and talks about how entertain she was when conversation starts to die out she has a whole arsenal of comments to make about nocchi to get the party up again.

Yuka on the otherhand is the chill girl that sits next to you and joins in all of the conversation yet doesn't try to be the spearhead. she likes all the things you like and she is over all chill as hell. she seems approachable yet ironically is the one that least likes to be approached the less time you spend alone with each other the more she will like you, so if you wanna chill with her bring like 2 friends.

Not really. On the above photo girl on the right is clearly the best looking one. I get what you're talking about, she has a bit weird facial structure and some photos with her can be pretty poor, but on the live footage she's clearly the Nocchi of the group (I just rewatched their youtube channel yesterday). It's decent enough, think they need to lock down a style for her pretty quickly if she's going to stick around.

my guess is that perfume themselves nagged for more promotion so they got some guy on a salary who knows something about computers to spend the night with perfume to make the Instagram. I think he has done a fantastic job of it personally but the solo effort comes off.

The album is overall pretty decent, but jesus christ it doesn't flow at all. At least with the shitty level 3 album mixes nakata made an effort to lead one song into the other but there's none of that here.

Probably the best electronic music to come out of a Perfume album but some of the worst vocals too. Like where they're singing the "aaah ahh ahh ahh" part of Cosmic Explorer.

Baby Face and Cosmic Explorer are probably the best songs. Next Stage with you and STORY are pretty good too.

Conflicted about Next Stage. Starts so strong but then the energy completely dissipates. 1:45 to 2:45 is begging for a vocal lead, especially when it's immediately followed by the ahh-ooh bridge. Could have smashed those two sections together and cut 45 seconds off the runtime.

As for Cling Cling I'm convinced Nakata must have been getting drunk with Sophie and AG Cook when he mixed it. Going to need a few more listens before I decide if I actually like the result.

Enjoying all the new tracks. Baby Face sounds like a Justin Bieber song but not in a particularly bad way. Miracle Worker is my favourite out of the gates but I want to hear a proper CD rip to see if the vocals (particularly Yuka's) fare any better against Nakker's compression because at the moment it's brickwalled to fuck.

Album is exactly how I'd thought it would be. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It's alright.

I don't think the album mixes had enough changes to warrant being in the album, Cling cling is an abomination, and Flash improved a tad bit, I liked it much more than the original.
Cosmic Explorer feels like a 45 second tune on loop for 5 minutes with short intermissions. Next Stage with you is literally just the title of the song plus oooh aah tacked on to it. Baby face's vocals and instrumentals don't match at all, not a lot happens in the song, and doesn't feel very creative. STORY should have been cut severely, and have the longer version play only in concerts for the visuals. It's Party maker on very strong steroids.
Miracle Worker is probably my favorite on the album.

All in all, album is a solid 7/10, bordering 6/10 because it made me yawn one too many times. Nakata seemed to forget he was producing Perfume songs, not Capsule songs, and forgot to add lyrics.

Also, is it just me or did Nakata rip a Kyary song, it sounds like Tsukematsukeru, on Sweet Refrain's album mix? The beginning of the song sounded way too familiar.

of all the songs on the album that we hadn't heard before, Cosmic Explorer initially sounded really cool to me, being kind of darker and bigger sounding than the rest of the album, with the synthwave-esque bass and synth solo 2 minutes in. it felt like it was the first time Nakata took western EDM influence and incorporated ina really nice way that didn't feel to forced.

until someone made the Madeon - Finale connection - which really lessened how i felt about this song. still decent track i guess. also fuck that weird fade in at 3:20, apparently its actually like that on the CD and not just in this rip.

Miracle Worker is a pretty solid song, easily my favorite of the new songs.

Next Stage was probably the song I was most excited for from the previews but its a shame the previews was pretty much all this song was. I was excited with the idea of Nakata doing something more funk inspired, but sadly that wasn't as present as i'd hoped beyond the guitar. as >>15023183 says theres that whole middle section that really feels like it should have vocals but doesn't.

i never got the hype over Story. if i want to listen to Wave Runner, i'll listen to Wave Runner. then again i'm the black sheep for never liking the "big EDM track of the album", like Party Maker, or Edge.

Baby Face is eh, i guess it serves its purpose as the "soft, cute" song. about the most interesting part of the song to me was Nakata jumping on that tropical house synth sound thats started to show up a bit in the west since it was used in a couple Bieber songs.
