I came here instead of /lang/ because /lang/ is dead.
I've tried searching everywhere for the Japanese equivalent for "to take part in".
But all I found was でる. It helps a lot, but I need it in kanji.
Does anyone know it? the で part I mean.
Is it the same as to exit?出?

Fixed.

There is only one spelling for that, and it is 出る, but I don't think you can use it for "to take part in."

Depending on how it's used, 組む could serve.

>> No.1491122

参加する

>> No.1491125

出る 【でる】 (v1,vi) (1) to appear; to come forth; (2) to leave; to exit; (3) to answer (the phone or door);

There for it can be used for example:
私はこの勝負に出るしかなかった。
Meaning I had no other choice but to take part it that contest.

So yes. Kanji for that is 出

Will it work on :
組もうと思っているんです。?

This is the correct way to say "to participate." >>1491125 is acceptable for certain events where participation means making an appearance, like coming out onto a stage or something. You can't use it for, say, "to take part in a conversation."

>because /lang/ is dead

Fucking bullshit, just because you don't get a reply in 10 seconds doesn't mean it's dead.

Also sage for faggot OP who can pre-emptively say he's got no reason to be using /lang/.

/lang/ IS FOR LANGUAGE RELATED SHIT, YOU STUPID DUMB MOTHER FUCKER. THERE'S LIKE A MILLION WEEABOOS IN THERE WHO KNOW MORE JAPANESE THAN ALL OF /jp/ TROLLS

This would be something like "I'm thinking of putting (it/something) together." If you are just a participant you probably want 参加しよう….
