Love me some Lapsang Souchong, it's got this nice smokey smell its great. I live in the UK so the different types of tea are literally everywhere but unfortunately you have to cough up some decent dosh if you want some legit loose leaf and not the fake stuff like Twinnings or Lipton or something.

I am more of a water drinker than anything else, but here is my take on it.

>Water
-Neutral to mildly off-putting taste, depending on tap/filter
-Hydrates you
-No other benefits

>Tea
-Slightly neutral to powerful taste, depending on combination
-Slight energy due to caffeine boost (for most varieties)
-Various herbal uses of varying efficacy
-Large variety of strains and recipes

>Coffee
-Powerful taste, you either like it, love it, or tolerate it (if you grow up with it)
-Strong energy boost through caffeine
-Various other positive and negative health effects
-Large variety of strains, but less than tea
-Recipes largely depend on dairy products, sugar, and direct application of spices, less malleability than tea

In my order of preference for drinking:
>Carbonated water, no additives
>Lukewarm Green tea with whole leaves at bottom of cup (for refills)
>Water
>Most other tea varieties, unsweetened
>Coffee cut with milk
>Sweet tea
>Stevia Soda (inb4 pictures of Madotsuki upchucking)
>Plain coffee
>Soda
>Sweetened coffee

Its not that I don't like the latter two, but they are more of a dessert for me than anything else.

They try to get it as hot as they can without it being too hot for your fingers. I think all but one brand use a different type of metal that is more insulating than aluminium. I like the temperature that they are at but I'm sure there's plenty of people who would prefer it be hotter.

There's a company who is trying to do it in the US but making it even hotter with an insulated label.

My family always were tea drinkers, and now that I live in a city where I have instant access to more variety I love trying new teas from all over the world. Something about the whole process of making it is really relaxing to me. Lately I've been drinking Sri Lankan teas my roommate brought back from his last visit.

The label under each item is blue or red depending on if it's served cold or hot.

Still not every leaf is going to have some, some in fact may be used just for the sake of taste. That's in fact the origin of tea, sandniggers in the past could only drink boiled water since the few sources they had were dirty crappy puddles, since boiled water tastes not so refreshing some dude decided to give it some flavor.

My mother knows I like to drink tea and bought me a few tins of it and I find it quite nice, though I'm no expert on tea. Considering she found it in the local supermarket in my very tiny hometown it seems very mainstream.
