This was way the fuck back, SA was the newest game at the time. Played osu! from 2007 through 2009, and Touhou music was a constant around there.

I still keep all music I used to play in osu! for archival purposes, but I'm afraid to revisit the folder because of the tagging hell that awaits me, and also everything will be in shitty bitrate and I'll have to fetch songs one by one in otokei doujin or something.

I learned about Touhou with the release of Cirno's Perfect Math Class flash. Everybody was linking and sicussing it and I couldn't understand what's the fucking appeal. So i did some basic research and downloaded few games (IN, MoF, SA). I really liked those games, but I had no idea what's going on in these games, who these people are and why they are shooting lasers at each other. Even after I got my first 1CC on easy (IN) I still didn't know name of a single 2hu. Eventually I stopped caring about these games.

I got into 2hu for real in late 2012 after someone dumped few 2hu doujins in /a/. I think it was Cirno and Reimu's 1-2-3, http://exhentai.org/g/521571/e7c088836c/ and few other ones.

Was on /v/ in 2008, don't even remember how I found it. Downloaded and tried PCB, which I was mistakenly told was the first game in the series. After playing it for a few minutes I thought it was some impossible game for hardcore Japanese otaku, and wrote it off and never bothered with it again.

Gave it a second chance in 2009 during the height of UFO's popularity, Byakuren everywhere. I had just dropped out of uni for the second time and I was bordering on obsession with the series Chaos;Head. That's when I became a /jp/sie. This is also my first post here again in more than two years.

As bad as those times were, I look back on them and I want to cry. Compared to what life is like now, they were amazing. The future seemed very uncertain, but bright, I was full of hope and optimism. It was a paradise compared to the nightmare everything seems to be today.
