141875 No.141875 [Reply] [Original]

So I finally got around to playing Tsukihime and finished Arcueid's route last night. Do I have to do Ciel's route before I can do Akiha's or the maid's to get the most out of the story? I don't really like Ciel that much. I probably have to finish her route before I can even play Akiha's anyways though right?

>> No.141886

I didn't finish Ciel's story and started playing. Kagetsu Tohya. I am now playing Ciel's route.

No. The Near Side was unlocked when you finished Arcueid's route.

Ciel True End is nice, but you don't have to play it, heretic. You'll miss out on a good bit of story related to Roa, though.

Chiel is stupid and ugly. Her personality is the same as the one of a grumpy bull and she acts like she is a cross between a horse and a deer.

Also, worst route is Chiel's route by far. It has no real redeeming features other than when Arcueid beats the shit out of her and attacks Shiki in a maddened rage.

And Shiki acts like he's Shirou in the last half of Chiel's route aswell.

Is it wrong that my favorite endings are Akiha's half a dozen BAD ENDs at the end of her route? It seems so much more appropriate when Shiki mercy-kills Akiha after she's turned into a demon, especially when the actual endings are him becoming a twisted wreck of a man or becoming an hero.

He does stab himself and give back Akiha's life and after SHIKI died he didn't have any use for it either since Akiha just ate him instead of using her powers to kill him. But most fans speculate that he lives through the ordeal somehow due to the complete lack of a body which he would leave behind when he died. Akiha also mentions that she knows that he is alive somewhere, which she might be able to feel with all the lifeforce trading.

>> No.142440

Let me be more specific.
It Hitting a point wouldn't cause you to break into pieces or fall apart. It ends the meaning or existence. In Nrvnqsr's case his Ultimate form gave Shiki the chance to kill all of the remaining Nrvnqsr in one shot. However the other parts of him that were seperated by line cutting remained because they were already killed off of him and weren't forcibly rejoined.

Or hell vampires don't leave traces anyway. Luckily or unluckily Shiki hasn't pierced humans, except himself, so take this how you will.

Dots don't work like that. Shiki destroys the concept of an object.

Think of a chair. A chair has a physical location and existence. None of those two attributes matter. Shiki destroys the very idea of the chair's existence, its overall specific concept.

The chair doesn't fall apart because it's been broken, but because there's no point to being held together anymore. The "chair" just ceases to exist as a concept.

I suppose Shiki could dot someone's soul, but if an important concept of a person is destroyed, like their soul, they may just die anyway. It's the same reason Shiki can't "kill" vampirism: it's the intricate part of the existence of a vampiric human. You destroy the vampire concept of a vampiric human and they die because they now lack it.

But it's wrong.

>It basically removes the meaning of your life to the world.
Sort of right. It destroys the concept of your existence. Dying is merely an after effect.

>Which means the world will see you as an irregularity and terminate you like a Reality Marble.
Er, no. When you're dotted, you simply start falling apart. There's no direct canon, but since things like Nero take a little bit to fall apart after being dotted (lol, monologue), destruction of concept might take time for a more powerful concept. But it's the process of a concept's destruction and return to Akasha. Za World (Gaia) doesn't have anything to do with it.

>But since he kills the life then it's your life that disappears and not the body.
Doesn't kill the life. That's what SHIKI did, was attack the source of vitality. Shiki destroys the concept, and life ends because the concept no longer exists.

Imagine a car that's rolling. Suddenly, everything that makes it a "car" just disappears. Every piece of the car falls apart simultaneously. The car has stopped after crashing to the ground.

The stopping and crashing to the ground is just an after affect of the entire car's end, though.

>> No.142740

If an object's "concept" is destroyed, shouldn't it disintegrate instead of falling apart in neat clean pieces?
lol Nasu

>> No.142752

>>142740
Depends. Vampires disintegrate when killed, so that's fairly easy to write off as an after effect. When Shiki dots inanimate objects, though, it seems to activate every line all at once and everything falls to pieces.

lol Nasu, indeed.

Ciel's only 26 by the time she meets Shiki.

>>142740
It depends on the concept, but it seems that whatever Shiki stabs, is broken or shattered if you will.

If he ends the existence of someone's life, then only the life and soul should be disintegrated. The body can and should remain, though lifeless.

>> No.142835

>>142740
I believe that it works like this: if you take that car example, the car idea will disappear but it's parts still hold meaning. Like, the concept of the wheels wasn't destroyed, only the concept of the car.

>> No.142890

>>142835
Hm, but the parts that fall under lines where the car's concept is easiest to destroy (lines of death) will still be broken along those lines.

It's a weird idea.

>If he ends the existence of someone's life, then only the life and soul should be disintegrated.

I'm not sure you can distinguish between the life and the body when one is tied to the other. The concept of "the living existence of this body" and "the body" might be the same thing, since "life" is the functioning of body parts themselves.

The concept has to be real and tangible before it can be destroyed.
