I feel like you guys might be able to help me.

I've heard japanese people are kinda against stuff like torrenting etc.

I'm gonna fly to JPN next month. Is my laptop and HDD safe? Or should I delete something? Like movies, applications, games? Thank you for your answers.

You shouldn't concern yourself about it unless you have questionable content which might set off some flags.

In other words, don't be stupid about what you bring into ANY foreign country.

Nobody is going to check your laptop. Even if they did, they would be worried about child porn, not video games.

If it really concerns you, use TrueCrypt's system encryption. The laptop will be completely unreadable and unusable without your password, which should keep it safe from nosy airport security folks and keep your personal information secure if your laptop is ever lost or stolen.

Nobody is going to look in your bags unless you check the box at customs that says "I am carrying illegal drugs".

I read some guy put shrooms into a plastic container of salad before and then ate them as they were taking off sounds like a good time to me.

I can't smuggle a salad past security, they'd make me throw it out and buy an overpriced salad from inside the airport.
