Flandre doesn't talk to people, doesn't really want to talk to people and spills her spaghetti when she does. When she wants to destroy something, the only way she figures how is to squash their eye, which is bad for trying to suck blood and leaving the human alive. Since Sakuya prepares their meals she doesn't ever have to, and she probably doesn't care to learn.

I want to see Flandre in an adventure where she is let out of the basement, and despite her supposed peculiar attitude and general incompetence in talking to other people, wanders around gensokyo out of curiosity, exploring all the locales and talking to all the characters, maybe even dressing up in different outfits! Her views on others could change and she could even have her own little coming-of-age on her hero cycle. She wouldn't even use her powers once to harm another being, since that's a boring plot point and counter-productive to what she would be trying to do.

You know, Flandre as a person! I think I'd be nice. Or you could just stick to the schizo loli ojou-sama material or living onahole that must be restrained but will ultimately escape and kill the faceless man material anyway. Because that sells to people who want nothing but a quick fix, so why change it?

Cirno has no fanon debate because ZUN actually cared enough for the ice fairy to include her on a bunch of works, including her own fucking game. There is more than enough material of her to shut down most "is this canon?" discussions.

Flandre is right up there with the most underdeveloped non-PC98 Touhou characters. A lot of others that were on that list have been slowly getting out of it, like Mokou and Koishi, but Flan is still there.
