Ami I the only person who is worried about Japan's future because of fukushima?

I mean 2 atomic bombs was bad enough but then a chernobyl tier nuclear disaster on top?

How the fuck hasn't the entire Japanese race gone extinct from radiation poisoning?

2 bombs wasnt enough

Sure you could worry about that but what can you even do?

Personally I'm more worried about there next earthquake. The last one did a big hit on exporting.

>> No.13774772

Honestly I hadn't even thought about it for over a year.

It's not like in my country. If a nuclear meltdown happened on the US east coast for example, all I would notice is a rise in the cost of goods. There, it has to be more hard-hitting. Especially when such a small island nation depends so much on their ocean fishing.

They're a resilient people however, if not a little backwards lawfully and politically. Not to mention, our treaty obliges us to provide protection and aid in their distress. I'm confident that they can withstand their current problems.

A Chernobyl tier nuclear disaster? Not even close. The magnitude of the disaster from Chernobyl was several fold more radioactive. Larger exclusion zone 30 km vs. 20 km radius (this being especially true when half the Fukashima Exclusion Zone is in the ocean). Far more deaths. Much more expensive.

Chernobyl is currently undergoing a third sarcophagus construction too.

Not only that, they're about to get hit with a super typhoon in a couple days. They're always getting hit with crazy weather and earthquakes.

I disagree in a sense, because I don't think there's a way to prevent their social problems. The Yakuza are too quiet in the major cities.

I believe they're a necessary evil. They police the people that would make underground crime as bad as it is in the US. There, things like underage prostitution have nowhere to hide from the Yakuza, and they do not abide it.

I don't play video games any longer so I'm not sure as to recent trend and mainstream in Japan, but I've heard kind of mobile games seems to tend to be popular among a wide range of ages because those games are easy to play anywhere only with smartphone.
Still, browser games also seem to be prevalent among young people (especially otakus) like KanColle/艦これ (short for KANtai COLLEction/艦隊これくしょん).

It wasn't that bad. But it wasn't too good either. Too many people though who think that radiation detector giving off the crackling sound means everyone is going to get cancer.

Not true of all Yakuza. Example, some Yakuza are seriously anti-drug. Other Yakuza are the major drug distribution networks.

Getting nuked was the best possible thing that could have happened to them after the hole they dug. It made the Chinese feel in some way avenged. If Japan hadn't been so totally defeated as to become entwined with the USA it would not have survived as a nation against China or Russia.

This.

US being Japan's guardian is the best thing to happen for them.
