I think the culture has evolved into this weird thing where woman aren't so interested in the long term marriage-then-having-babies thing. They want to be more independent and "have fun", in the process letting Asian Chad ruin their bodies and then looking for some good earning schmuck to support them when they're old and used up. I think a lot of the guys aren't so proactive about it either, probably due to an increase in "Otaku culture".
People are becoming smarter, who wants to have a bunch of kids these days, in these dark times we live in? They cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to raise and society has progressed realizing that they don't actually need to have kids anymore, there's not the same kind of weird expectation you had in the early 20th century where you popped out at least half a dozen babies.
The same thing is being observed in the Western world, particulraly with with your average well-to-do white family, who are having very few kids compared to some poor people/certain minorities.

I tell you, within our life times some crazy shit is gonna go down, and it won't be too many generations after that we all collapse in on ourselves destroying everything in the process.
That's why I'm going to make my days as comfy as possible in this small country, living in a quiet rural area playing games and watching anime all day.

I don't worry about it too much. We will have robot revolution within a hundred years (no, it's nothing to worry about!). We could do with less people, the transition phase (we will for a while have way too many elder people) is the difficult one, but the heavy automation will help.
