What's going on in PD? There's a lot of new releases that I'm interested in but they are badly rated or not rated at all. Seems very suspicious.

>> No.12828131

All fine for me.

>> No.12829046

You can partially download a file, convert it and check if it's fake. If someone's flooding the network with fakes then it's nothing new, it happened with Share and Winny before. It would help if we knew what kind of releases you're talking about though.

I just started on PD, my speeds are so slow on it for some reason.
It goddamn take months at this rate to get unity at 40gb.

>> No.12832236

Sadly PD stopped working for me suddenly a while back, despite having an open port and nothing else interfering with it I'm just left with a port not open error.

Anyone got any tips for speeding this thing up?

Speed always varies, though I believe are typically slower outside of Japan, how long you had it going?

is 2KB/s normal?

Have you tried disabling windows firewall or your router's firewall? Obviously that's too slow and the number of failed connections seems unusually high.

Anyone using Amoeba? Can't get it to work for some reason.

Isn't there a crack to work around that?

>> No.12832320

Also you should download the latest version 1.22, might help I suppose.

No firewalls or router firewall rules.

I'll try and find it? I thought this was the latest? I can't seem to find an official site for this program or I am just blind.

In my experience, you don't have to download 40GBs, PD has worked for me about the same no matter how much unity I had. There's even a cracked version that lets you bypass these requirements. Also, your client version is quite old, did you turn off automatic updates? The latest one is 1.22, perhaps that's why you speeds are so low.

I do. I wrote some instructions on setting it up (ignore the Lair part though, it got replaced by Outopos)

Use the nodes from that site too.

Just updated it and the speeds shot up massively.
Thanks anons for your help.

50GB's of cache eh? Do the files appear before downloading the 50GBs? Because I definitely don't have space for that atm.

>> No.12832368

Yeah, they do. But you need to know the uploader's sign to see them.

>> No.12832447

Frankly PD just doesn't have the things I'm looking for nowadays, mainly doujin wise.

All things I want that are rarer and not scanned aren't on PD or Share. It seems like western sites upload the vast majority anyways though you may have better luck finding old magazine scans with their P2P systems if that's what you want.

>> No.12835825

Is PD/Share worth using for visual novels? I have a feeling torrents are probably best speedwise.

>> No.12835862

>>12835825
For old stuff, maybe. All new releases get uploaded on freenet which is very slow and then on torrents.
