Based on Remi's off-hand comment on being the descendant of Dracula, I always assumed that the mansion was located somewhere in modern Hungary, but I also have heard that it might have possibly been in some other Middle Europe country before moving. Anyone able to shed light on this?

Also, SDM thread, I suppose.

Can't have an SDM thread without the Head Maid Herself! As for where it came from, it all comes down to fan-theory, I think. I'm pretty sure there's no Canon answer. Could be wrong, though.

If it was based off Dracula, then it would have been located to historical Transalvania, seeing as that is where the story originated back a little over a century ago (117 years ago to be precise). I guess the idea being that the mansion was moved from there to Gensokyo at some point in time.
