This thing has a kind of vague but confusing array of elements. The predominance of LoL and cosplayers makes me wince. It just looks pretty rushed. Maybe the fandom does better in public by folding itself into a larger mass, like at an anime convention, where they can overcome their crippling loathing of their own fandom under the comforting wing of people worse than themselves.

So many people in my old high school played League, probably adding up to a couple hundred (out of maybe 1600 or so). One of my friends knows a little bit about Touhou, but that's about it as far as i can tell.

I still feel like the best way to find people that like Touhou would be to go to a local convention. It'd most likely be overrun by random anime fans and, of course, people cosplaying from games like League, but that doesn't mean that Touhou fans won't be able to meet up away from all of that. We can't let our good spirit be ruined by others.

What would people do at a Touhou convention anyway? Cosplaying feels sort of... awkward, although I'd probably try to make some sort of effort if everyone else was doing it. I guess playing the games would make sense, although Touhou isn't only about danmaku. Maybe I just need to make some new friends to talk with.

Come on jaypee, let's not be too antisocial and at least make some effort to meet up.

Some of the Panels could use some work, pretty disappointed there's no panel encouraging or helping ease people into official games considering how many secondaries there are likely to be.

The ice by default is already mostly broken at cons, so meeting new people out of the blue too!

This con in particular looks like, shit and I'm only going for vendor networking and scouting the artist alley for a friend's circle.
