12308495 No.12308495[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

>On one night of a full moon, Reisen received a transmission from other surviving moon rabbits. (Moon rabbits have some kind of telepathic ability and can communicate across great distances.)

>It said:

>"These filthy humans are exploiting the power of the moon and trying to build a base here. We've been urging them co-exist peacefully with us, but they never listen. We're up against a wall. We've decided to declare a final war against them.

>"The tide of war is currently slightly in their favour... Their modern weaponry is far better than we expected. But don't worry, we have the wisdom and pride of our millennia of history... We will never lose.

>"Dear Reisen, a war will be starting soon. Please come back and fight at our side.

>"Also, please tell the humans you're living with... That we're coming to take you back with us on the next full moon. Refusal is not an option."

>Reisen told them that she needed to return to the moon, but... Kaguya and Eirin were part of the Lunarian race as well.

>Kaguya remembered her past.

>A past of innocence.

>A life of living with humans.

>A memory of murdering emissaries and going into hiding.

>Kaguya had a discussion with Eirin, then decided to defend Reisen from the moon's emissaries. But if they kill the emissaries, they'll have to go into hiding for a long time again. If only there was a way to make it impossible for the emissaries to reach them, then they would never have to hide again.

>Just as Kaguya was about to finish speaking, Eirin presented her solution.

>"If we remove the full moon from Earth, then the path between Earth and the Moon will be closed. A full moon from Earth is what makes it possible for them to come here. That's why the Lunarians only visit on nights with a full moon. If we corrupt that full moon... Earth will become a large, sealed chamber."

Wait, secondary who never plays any 2hu official games here, so basically Reisen is the direct cause behind IN?

A crude and inelegant piece of trash; quite useless on the Moon, as there is no air for it to create wind in. Compare to the WD54 warhead, a marvelously compact weapon with variable yield (flexibility!) and a variety of precision delivery options for tactical, demolition, or strategic use.

Not really, it goes like this:
>Lunarians are hilariously imaginative and think the humans coming to the moon is an act of war
>Humans actually have stopped caring about landing on the moon for a while now
>Lunarians think human lunar missions are failed attempts at landing and conquering them
>Moon rabbits cause rumors and exaggerate current events, make up bullshit about starting another "war"
>Rumors pass to Reisen, alerting Eientei
>After they escaped to Earth, Kaguya and Eirin had a history of assassinating lunar emissaries that tried to come bring them back and hiding so the moon can't find them
>Tired of this bullshit, Eirin seals the real moon so they can't get to Earth
Cue IN
>Yukari notices, stops the night and goes with Reimu to investigate
>By the time they arrive, Eirin has already sealed the moon so her plan worked, but she only intended to keep it sealed until daybreak
>Meanwhile Reimu and Yukari are only stopping the night until the moon comes back, leading to a dumb standstill
>Kaguya eventually notices and forces the night to daybreak
>Eirin unseals moon
>But congratulations, all along it never mattered because Eientei was transported to Gensokyo and the lunar emissaries could never get there anyways
Cue pre-SSiB
>Yukari wants "rent" from Lunarians, contrives plan to fuck with them
>Rumors on the moon of a traitor start popping up, Rei'sen leaves moon
>Eirin figures out Yukari is plotting, begins counterplotting

Humans could just launch their garbage to the moon and that would completely wreck the Lunarians
Humans simply being there and trying to build a base or leaving debris everywhere is enough to damage the "purity" of the moon.

The Lunarians shouldn't be surprised when the Humans start to treat the moon like a literal wasteland after intentionally depicting it as such for so long.

Eirin and Kaguya are already "defiled" just by staying on Earth for so long. I bet that Eirin would introduce recreational drugs to the Lunarians if she ever returned because she sells them in Gensokyo.

Sin. Dishonor. Taboo. Misfortune. Death. Shintoists bathe a lot to ward it off, and Shinto shrines are regularly cleansed of impurity so that gods are willing to live there (those red gates are a kind of barrier to keep it from leaking back in).

Because nothing has ever died on the moon it's never been tainted, and thus the people living there are immortal superhumans. Presumably all humans were like that at first.

Most of the people who call the Lunarians racist don't realise just how big a deal "kegare" is to the Japanese. You're not allowed into shrines if one of your relatives has died recently, because death makes you tainted. Butchers used to be on the lowest rung of society, equivalent to murderers and rapists, just because they touch dead things a lot. Shintoists hate death so much that they don't even like having funeral rituals, so when someone dies they use Buddhist ones instead.

The moon is naturally pure though, or at least it has a very little amount of impurity because it lacks conflict, death, and evolution like in Earth, that is why the reason why the original lunarians move there and they enjoy their biological immortality there (basically like jellyfish or the LOTR elves, you can be killed, but otherwise, you can live forever).

The hourai exilir surpass this because it's true immortality, you can never get killed, but of course, this is unnatural because the hourai is still a drug.

Because Lunarians are outside of the cycle of life and death entirely, while Hourai immortals are "super-alive".

To put it another way: Lunarians can't die. Hourai people can die, but come back to life instantly. So a Lunarian who drinks the Hourai elixir has still become more connected to death than normal.

>> No.12314173

>>12314104
That is the opposite of it actually.

Lunarian can still die of old age, it just takes a long long time.

Hourai people are left out of the cycle forever, even if they get blown to pieces.

Quoting CiLR:
>Lord Tsukuyomi took only relatives he had the utmost trust in and moved to the moon. The moon was completely without impurity. As a result, those who had moved to the moon forsook any lifespan. That they had no lifespan meant they were neither alive nor dead. In that sense, the moon is be a Pure Land, without impurity. It may even be the same as the world in the afterlife.
>Of course, since the lunar citizens and the moon rabbits aren't immortal, they can die in, for example, accidents or battles. Still, even the citizens of the lunar capital bear just the faintest trace of impurity. Even we may be fated to die some day.
http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Cage_in_Lunatic_Runagate/Third_Chapter

This is why the ghosts are also biological immortal, because Netherworld is also a Pure land.
