Apparently Fakku has entered into an agreement with a Japanese publisher and are making legal claim to all the works by those artists (which is a fucking huge list). I'm almost positive they don't have all the works by all those artists available on their site. Looks like Fakku is doing some commercial stuff. As a result, a lot of material is getting deleted that isn't going to be restored. It's not going to be restored because "there's not enough demand" and "that would cost too much" — both issues that arise when money is the only deciding thing (and let me tell you, money IS the only deciding thing for commercial interests).

Another problem is that, currently, material that isn't even licensed is getting deleted because it had SOME connection to an artist who did SOME work which has now become licensed. Now any sensible service provider who has providing value to the userbase in mind will realize that obviously we're only going to remove what we absolutely HAVE to. So if things work out well the only things that will be removed and stay removed are the ones that are licensed, and ONLY the ones that are licensed.

If this does not work out, further problems arise in the long run when people realize that material that "should be safe" from deletion is no longer "safe," resulting in a decrease of people providing new materials because people do not want to go through the trouble of acquiring and uploading material that MIGHT be deleted. Thus, the quality of the website decreases in the long run. (I say "safe" because you can argue that too but that's another point.)
