To be honest there doesn't seem to be THAT much change. Some things that are more 'mainstream' now have migrated to other boards, but from what I can tell it's still mostly random touhou image dump and eroge information.

The 'normie' or 'real' Japanese stuff seems more tolerated, though. The board also seems slower and and 'I want to die' portion seems to be the majority now.

Must have been late 2008 or early 2009, because I remember Umineko exploding in popularity when the anime came out.

Anyone remember a guy that used to stream visual novels and PC-98 games on Mogulus/Livestream? Man, there was barely any moderation back then, my threads were only deleted once or twice. Nowadays I'd be banned within seconds if I tried something like that.

That's part of it, but every board has that problem. I think it has more to do with Touhou becoming more and more "mainstream" with weebs, and them being attracted to /jp/ as "the Touhou board."

No, I'm not that guy. I remember playing Underwater Ray Romano, Langrisser II, Rusty, and some random PC-98 games that I'll never remember the names of.

The best time was when I didn't have the fonts installed for my PC-98 emulator yet, and tried to play through some shitty loli molestation simulator filled with mojibake, having no idea what the fuck I was doing, while extremely silly music played in the background. I first came here when I saw one of those ``there's a party in /jp/'' threads on /b/ in 2009. I had never heard of Touhou or visual novels so I didn't stick around. Like 2 years later in 2011 I got banned for 2 weeks. When I came back I decided to check out other boards. I didn't really know what /jp/ was because I had only been here a couple times. I made an effort to try and fit in. I downloaded all the Touhou games. So far I have cleared PCB, IN, and TD on normal with continues. I hadn't watched anime since high school but I started watching it again when I saw all those anime reaction pictures here.

I can't remember. All I can remember is that moderation was stricter in the past. 2 week bans used to be normal. Now, even ban evasion is only a 30 day ban. Most people get 1 or 3 day bans.

I've never been a maximum TruNEET /jp/sie, but I've been coming here at least twice a month since I started browing 4chan on a regular basis.
Recently though, I find myself here daily. /jp/ is shit, but all of 4chan is shit, and /jp/shit is still better than the other boards. It's comfy here.
