It's one of their songs that is more pop than metal, so it has more of a mass appeal than any other ones and it is also "catchier" than their other ones as well.

Personally I've been listening to them since they were all still in Sakura Gakuin, and I like Gimme Chocolate, it's all about mixing up the balance of pop vs metal vs other genres as well.

Do any London local Anons have experience with The Forum Box Office? I'm going to the concert tomorrow but since I'm from abroad the feckers wouldn't mail the ticket to me or even give me e-ticket to print out, I gotta go and collect on the show day.

Does the box office open early enough so I can drop by like in the morning and pick my ticket up? Or is it integrated with the actual entrance line? I'd fucking hate to lose my spot in the entrance line just to have to go to box office line.

Halp?

And the little movie thing before the show was a Star Wars parody (the yellow text) saying about how all paths of metal lead to Europe and how the girls were chosen to do some shit and there was a pic of them with the Metallica dude. First thing I thought when the curtains came down and the smoke went off was 'this is more HD than any performance I've seen, even more HD than real life'.
Also you know that feeling when you masturbate? I now feel that and my hands aren't even touching my dick. Can't remember if there was a wall of death or not, I wasn't looking at the crowd. When it came to IDZ everything was beautiful, just before the song started everyone stood up. At the end there was literally a standing ovation. The whole show was glorious.

I arrived at 3PM, was the 100th or so person in line, but they stopped making you write your number on your hand after that I think.

Ended up standing next to some fucking insufferable meme-spouting plebbit neckbeard weeaboos.

Managed to get right at the front of the crowd, dead centre in front of the middle monitor, I could hold onto the fence. Right next to the 8ft tall giant man.

Fucking amazing holy shit, I literally could not move for the entire show except to raise or lower my arms. I was covered in sweat by the end, my shirt was soaked through.

Picked up a t-shirt and a poster.

I can almost taste the jelly from those that haven't seen them. Seriously though if any of you get the chance to you should. Those two god-tier (get it) Kami Band performances make it worth it let alone the great interaction with the crowd and the really talented performance from the girls. Next time they come to London I'm making sure I get on the ground level and get there at around 1/2 instead of like 5:30 as I did. Still got a really good seat though, nice venue apart from the heat (although it made things more intense, I guess) and the jewish way of confiscating your drinks then selling you water at 3 pounds just for a small bottle. Also had to wait for a whole hour and that kind of sucked. Up on the balcony I think me and another fan were the only two going crazy.

The guys infront of me weren't at the front of the crowd, not too far after the stairs. Just three of them clumped together not even fucking dancing or moshing, just dead weight. It's really quite infuriating. You need tits to lead and get past in this situation and my hookup was being a shyfag so I just had to retreat.

But damn dude 10am that's fucking ridiculous what did you even do for 8 hours?

You have the right idea man. You either go first thing and be right in the front or turn up just as it starts and don't queue. Anything inbetween and you'll be somewhere in the middle and could've just turned up late and pushed through the crowd a bit. I learnt that the hard way by turning up 3 1/2 hours before doors opened.

10am anon here again, finally on a normal pc. Sorry if I'll sound incoherent. After the gig I took the tube to Victoria and from there a bus to airport. Got there after midnight, kinda slept a couple hours on the floor, then took a 6am flight only to arrive in time to work at 9am. Life's fucking amazing.

Let me repeat, this was a life changing event. Mind you, I'm 30+, been a metalhead for some 20 years, and into J-pop for 10 or so. I've been to a fair share of metal gigs, but this topped all of them. Fuck the jaded and cynical, BABYMETAL put fun back in metal as it used to be. 2 hours fast pace gig with the crowd energy never leveling off, it just kept getting more crazy.

By the setlist in >>12253007 starting with Megitsune it was pure madness. I could see the bouncers in front of me and they were all like WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON THERE. But trust me, they were having fun too. They seemed genuinely happy to have such a happy crowd in front of them and had this Apone grin on their faces when pulling off crowd surfers.

Oh yeah crowd surfers, there were an occasional few during the first half, but the last 5 songs they were dropping towards the stage with a speed of tetris pieces on insane mode. I got a boot on my head a few times, and once right in the face, but fuck, I don't care, it was glorious.

My shirt and everything else was literally drenched with sweat when the gig ended. I shit you not, I could and did wring it out. Good thing I bought fresh tshirts (megitsune and alien one) at the venue and could or the way home would have been unpleasant.

My absolutely ONLY regret was not being in the pit and not getting to do the wall of death. But I wouldn't have traded that for my glorious viewing spot for no money.

Ok, maybe I could complain a little about sound quality. It was kinda 6.5/10, with vocals drowned out sometimes and just lack of separation. But when it sounded right then it was so powerful it would give you the fucking chills, like Akatsuki did. TBC

>> No.12254481

Yeah, the sound quality went from shit to ok every now and then. Still though, Suzuka looking at me while I was the only person on the balcony with his kitsune up and giving her energy is one of the best moments in history. After this success I would bet for another world tour even next year.

On one hand it's kinda sad there wasn't much interaction with the crowd, but it's also much better than fucking tedious MCs that, say, H!P concerts have to pad the length. And even then I still did make eye contact with each one of them, even though most of the time they were looking above the heads of the front crowd.

And oh yeah, if anyone still doubted if they're enjoying the whole metal thing - I could see them scan the crowd during the crazy moments and they could barely conceal their excitement and squealing. I'm not imagining it, a few times especially Moa and Yui were grinning silly watching the crowd surfers and shit.

Ok time to go back to fucking work, all the videos better still be up by the time I get home or I'll be pissed, can't download them here.

This gig is gonna live with me forever, but I'm not sure if for good reasons.

The band were great, and everyone seems to have loved it and had the time of their life. Some saying even life changing, and it feels like Babymetal are on the cusp of something great. I'm not just saying this because I'm a fan of the band, they were just meant to be a sub-band of a big group with a metal gimmick like the fucking cooking band or whatever it is. It actually caught fire and it's become a thing. The issue is, what do you do? The girls are going to get older, taller, their voices may change, etc. Do they replace them and risk alienating the fans or do they run it into the ground?

I feel like it can't last much longer but their success is staggering. The chick I was with has no idea how popular they actually are, she was like "hurrrr ten people" and I was like no dude, they're fucking sold out. This gig should've never happened, I surely couldn't have predicted it. Surely they must've sold a shit load of tickets for Sonisphere alone, and they weren't even a main act (speculating here, cuz to announce gigs before even testing the waters in europe and pull those numbers is staggering).

I've never seen a fucking queue like it. I've not been to a ton of gigs, maybe 10-15 or so, but it honestly felt completely different.

I fucked up, man. I left the main crowd. Respect to anyone who got to the front for whatever reason, but I didn't want to push through and start a fight and the chick wouldn't lead me through the fucking crowd or buy the drinks (not to be misogynic but a chick is more likely to get served and get through the crowd without getting twatted, also I'm fucking northern and I can't even ask for a fucking coke without the bartender thinking I asked for port)

Anyway rambling. I wish I'd stayed in the crowd, not for the Wall of Death. But I was blocked by utterly tall faggots and couldn't get round, and watching from the bar was good but I felt disconnected...

I've been to two memorable ones down here being The Cribs at 100 Club and this one and the people were just so fucking friendly, no trouble, a bit weeb and geeky but there was no cunts from what I could see and no one starting fights or throwing beers or just being a twat. It was really nice to see. I hope I get to experience it again.

There was that one J-pop band that got older and still goes on
Also the band has been evolving these few years, from the singing, to the dance moves everything. They're just gonna keep evolving the dance moves to their age and considering there will be a new album maybe next year they will probably leave out the more poppy songs like Ii Ne and Doki Doki Morning in favour of their newer more 'metal' songs which will be attuned to their age.

It's not so much all that as it is the setup. Su as main vocals (she did great btw) and the two younger and shorter girls as backup and dancers.

It's gonna be awkward if Moa grows quicker than Yui or vice versa. It's gonna be interesting to see how they evolve.

This gives me hope that they won't break them up or replace the members. I'd hate it if they became the new Sugarbabes. They're a good trifecta. It fits.

A lot of people that are being introduced to BM know nothing about the idol scene or even its existence, and think its all real. But, hey, I guess that's better for them.

It's been over 24 hours since the show and I'm still on a high from it all, it really was a life changing experience. I don't think I've ever been as happy as I was during the show yesterday. Not knowing if or when they will be coming back is going to kill me though.

Honestly I couldn't care less as it is made. Whether it's a bunch o teenagers on a garage, who crafted their intruments themselves, or a producer pulling the strings on a cold studio, or if one little girl sacrified a lamb and begged allah for musical enlightenment. The only thing I care for is the final product, the MUSIC itself, their performance on stage. And Babymetal always delivers.

Yeah, I get what you mean but it doesn't really matter because at the end of the day it's a blast to watch recorded footage or especially live and the girls have great fun performing and so do the band. I don't really think it matters how a band is formed if they make good music and both sides have great fun. That being said the band has rapidly evolved from a J-pop spinoff with a unique gimmick to a fully fledged metal group with tons of potential so it's gonna be interesting to see what their next album comprised of entirely new songs sounds like.

The entire point of Babymetal is that it ISN'T the generic metal band that sounds like Cookie Monster angrily choking on a dick while the bass, guitar & drums are put into a box of vibrators and thrown down a flight of stairs.

>That being said I still feel like this is a band that was created too much on the basis of a record company trying to make profit, rather then a group of people coming together, chilling in their parents basement and getting trashed off cheap beer and pounding out riffs like most metal bands I know.

Well that's part of the reason why it isn't like any other metal band.

Also, those dudes getting drunk in a basement, they're also in it for the money. Nobody dreams of being a part-time rockstar that has to work 60 hours a week in a warehouse or fast-food restaurant. Everyone who has ever joined a band or thought of joining a band has done so because they wanted to become millionaire superstars.

>Again, love the sound, can't get behind how fabricated it feels.

How so?

A lot of people will argue "oh well they didn't know anything about metal before the joining the band".

They were 12 and 14 when they joined babymetal. No one is born knowing what metal is, unless you parents are burnouts that made you listen to their Black Sabbath records everyday, you usually don't discover metal until your mid-early teens. When I was their age I knew about Slayer, but for the most part I was listening to shit like Green Day and Blink 182.

The Monday concert was the happiest thing in my life in the longest time. But now it's back to real life which slowly covers everything in layers of putrid shit. I don't think anything can top the experience of seeing Su, Moa, and Yui right in front of me. I don't think I have anything greater than that to experience in my life, or the strength to fight against the incoming waves of shit any more. Why not just put an end to it while the memory is still fresh and vivid.

Thanks. I am strong. I've been putting up with shit for many years, never breaking down, never complaining. Just rolling on through every day with numbed senses and void of emotion.

The concert just made me realize what kind of non-existence my life really is. And that I want a break from it. I'm not even a waifu or idolfag or anything, they just bring me pure innocent happiness. And I don't even feel suicidal as such, just the thought of slowly fading away into nothingness with Babymetal playlist blasting through my headphones and their smiling image in front of my eyes is something I feel surprisingly at ease with right now. I'm tired and this thought is really very soothing.

I won't kill myself anyway. I have too little courage to do it, and too much responsibility to just abandon doing things that I'm expected to be doing. I'll just keep on living and not feeling a thing.

Sorry for my venting, I'll stop now, please carry on with the usual thread.

In dire times we must all remember our loyalty to the Fox God and the 3 Goddesses. Death is dishonour, all our power must be given to them for as long as we can possibly live. We must help them take over the world. It's more than just a band, it's a religion, a way of life.

Somehow I only found out about this band a few days ago so I'm pretty late to the party, but holy shit this stuff is amazing. I listen almost exclusively to black metal so I've probably completely destroyed my metal cred by 4.5ing this on Rateyourmusic but I don't even care - I haven't enjoyed an album this much for probably 4 years. I went into it expecting pretty much just Jpop mixed with a small amount of homogenised shitty mall metal that might be an entertaining gimmick for a couple listens - what I wasn't expecting was melodic death, power, trance, thrash, nu and pretty much every other metal genre appearing on the album and to still be enjoying it after 20+ listens. So yeah this is great and I have no idea why.
