Do you think fetishism is an inherent part of otaku culture? I don't really mean to seem like I'm complaining but there always seems to be lots of treads about various fetishes populating the board. Foot fetish, giantism fetish, those ran-kanako milf or incest or whatever threads, butts and anuses, crossdressing, crossdressing as dolls, ryona, and so on, all getting hundreds of posts.

A lot of media, even non ero, seem to pick some fetish and run with it too, like all the characters will be lolis, or all the characters will be lesbians, or all the characters will have tits bigger than their torsos, things like that that would barely affect the media if it were made with different types of characters.

Is it in the otaku nature to have a/several strong fetish/es?
