What cute /jp/-media or games are there that /isn't/ mostly casted by female characters, or where the male characters are just as cute as the female ones? (cute from a male perspective, not a fujoshi perspective)

I'm not gay, I just don't have much interest in girls either anymore and having self-inserted myself as female characters for years gave me identity issues.

/cm/ and /y/ should be able to help with manga, movies, series, and light novels at least. I know you don't want gay stuff but they should know more about it than average otaku.

I dunno, in real life I don't feel any less cute than the girls I encounter. But in anime girls tend to be drawn much more cutely and end up being the center of attention to the point that it makes me feel shitty (pic related).

I guess I like stuff like Hunter x Hunter due to the presence of lots of androgynous characters.

I pick the female characters because the male ones either look stupid or end up being fucking bland. It seems like it's always the female characters that are interesting, or at the very least, are well-designed.

Maybe it's easier to self-insert when the protagonist is a blank slate or something. Or maybe I just have issues.

I wholeheartly agree, japanese 2D media is way too stiff when it comes to plot and character archetypes.

Oftentimes they are just girls with the "boy" label basicly.

This is just off of the top of my head but most series that generally have cute boys doing cute things are slice of life, coming of age sports series. Some popular ones that aren't so bad are Haikyuu, Oofuri, Free and Yowada Pedal.

Other than that Kimi to Boku, Shiki (the mc in it looks a bit androgynous) and series like that may also be up your alley. I'm currently watching Samurai Flamenco which is also good in terms of cute male characters who are 18+ (however it also has a number of female characters who are rather cute).
