Are the wu-tang clan popular in Japan?

>> No.12115870

What's with /jp/ and their knowledge of rap music?

This is very unlikely and I never understand this.

The Wu-Tang could be dangerous.

Was Biggie? I've always wanted to cruise the rough streets of Tokyo in a slammed itasha blasting Biggie out the open windows.

a lot of western otakus grew up in suburban or poor areas and were exposed to a lot of hip hop

I have been listening to it my entire life and it's my favorite genre of music, but i'm not a ``wigger'' in any sense of the word

Truth.

>>12115870

A lot of rap speaks about going through hard times. Being the outcast, trying to find a place to belong to in a world that doesn't want you. Being thankful for what you have while working hard to keep it and climb away from misery. That there is a light at the end if you can endure. But there will be losses, and it will hurt you.

At least that's how I remember it from when I was a kid. A lot of anime targeted at older kids and teenagers carry such messages as well. If you like rap you can find plenty of weeb shit to get into. Of course, you don't see the weebs of /a/ or /v/ talking about rap very often.

One idea is that you usually end up in a camp. Scene kid, metal head, etc. But for the one white kid who likes Rap? There's no friends to connect to. You'll probably be able to get along really well with people if you try, but it'll feel like you're forcing yourself because you don't share their interests and life goals.

Learning Japanese and then reading LNs or VNs, playing STGs for points and immersing oneself in things like Touhou and Korean MMOs that can consume ones entire life due to the the sheer amount of content or grind...

That's the kind of shit only a true outcast and NEET could do, that has no friends to spend his free time on. But still has the drive and motivation preached about in rap and shounen anime (especially old stuff) to get things done and not quit. But one day, he suffers a burnout and starts taking it easy instead. He finds /jp/. He comes home.

The only sketchy thing about Roppongi are all of the illegal African immigrant touts and gaijin retards that go there

I tell people how much I hate rap and how shit it is, but I actually really enjoy it, same with dubstep, I love it, but people judge me for my tastes to much so I can't say that straight out... One positive thing about lying about my tastes is that I've develope a taste for classical music and alot of other genres, I've always liked rock though.

Kabuki-cho > Roppongi in terms of seediness. Yakuza make their home businesses there.
