I have a few creative projects I'm working on and I've laid out a lot of the foundations for them, but I can't seem to inspire myself to finish them.
It's really disappointing and makes me feel really bad.

Of course it's all interrelated. Overall, it's an eulogy of 2D love (represented by Hadaly) and an attack to 3D whores (represented by Lilith) to serve as my annual Valentine's rendition to Asuka. The references to flesh out the idea as I wanted grew numerous, though; to name some: The Zohar, Baudrillard, Alphaville (Godard), Kanashimi no Belladonna, Bellmer (my fondness for Dollfie Dreams)... even some GödeI, in the form a couple of logical puns (on the problem of consistency vs completeness) which are the only humorous part of it all.

Playing touhou arranges is a pretty good way to learn the instrument (it only took me 2 years of lazy practice to get to an impressive level) AND understand some basic music theory (hearing the same zun motiff in different keys, for example).

The biggest challenge is to bend all your fingers down when hitting the keys, keep your hands slightly elevated, and use your wrists more than your actual fingers - the later two will come with practice but the first one is something you need to get sorted straight away (and that will hurt if you have a double joint on your left pinky like me).

Also it lets you make the exaggerated round cheeks if you're into that kinda thing.

Also it makes it harder to tell the distance between features, so if your eye near the ear is way to the side, or if the ear itself is way back, it's less noticeable than if your eyes were too far apart from a front view or your ear too far back from a side view.

Appreciate your help and I do admit the abs weren't centered and the ear should have been moved a little back, though it's too big for my taste now.

His chin is supposed to be very prominent; I don't like my male characters looking feminine, except the traps, of course.
The hand also is supposed to look big since it is closer to the viewer than the rest of the body, but I guess I failed at that if it doesn't strike the viewer immediately.
I also wanted him to be very slim, now he looks more buff.

And my personal 2 cents on the use of an imageboard reference in your work is that it's a brilliant move. Pop artists have been embedding subcultural Easter eggs in their work since the inception of the medium. No one has tapped into this particular thing in the art world yet (to the best of my knowledge) and that society just eats this stuff right up. It's authentic.

I know people are afraid of exposure and there's probably something to that but this is ota-Warholian and so very clever. And beautiful! It just works.

Eyes and noses are probably the most important indicator of direction. You need to ask yourself what exactly you are drawing instead of just a curved line and triangularish "shadow". The root of this problem is you wanting her head be tilted. A head tilted is still straight when you rotate the canvas but what you got was everything being lopsided. The result is a seemingly forward facing face with a sideways nose and mouth and lopsided hair. The whole thing is also super flat.

Her hair is lopsided on purpose though-- I like to imagine that since she doesn't ever get out of the mansion, and I doubt Sakuya can get her to hold still long enough for a hair cut, Flan just kind of does her hair herself, resulting in a slightly lop-sided, messy hairdo.
Also, human faces are never perfectly symmetrical, so I like to avoid doing that with any humanoid character I draw. Whenever I try to make them perfectly even, it results in uncanny valley, mostly because I suck at realism.
I'll try coloring it and see if that makes it any better. I might adjust the nose, too, since I'm not so fond of it myself.

I feel the answer is just, no fucking clue. It seems like they figure them out while coloring. And i guess you just have to make guesswork while making the clean lineart.
