you don't learn them, you just look down on everyone recognizing their names and laugh at people who even read the official books because if you think about it - this is retarded as hell and the games aren't even good

collect images of all the Touhous on /jp/ and make a new folder for each
that's how I learned, you need to know the Touhou's name to properly sort it

Playing the games also helps

you should be able to learn all the important touhous from just browsing /jp/.
specific 2hu threads really help, threads like "post kappa butt" and "what does momiji smell like". you don't need to learn the unimportant ones because they're unimportant and shit.
