Guys, I want to make a Visual Novel video game. What is the best way to approach this? Can you give me some suggestions on what the story should be and what characters should I create? I highly value the input of all you otaku folk.

I was thinking of making it about something cool and trendy, but nothing is certain yet. Here is an example of what I would like my characters to look like.

1. Start with 3 heroines or less, multiple routes implies multiple endings, not a good idea for your first experience.

2. Do not focus all the attention on the MC, he has to have a friend or family.

3. Try to make a balance between heroines, times on screen, dialogs etc.

4. The MC needs a goal, you can't just make a VN about a boy chasing girls in high school because it's boring.

5. Use a flowchart to make your story.

6. Do not reset your projects, try to complete at least one.

7. If you're not having fun then stop working.

8. Show your work to other people, feedback is always appreciated.
