Because she's a tormented sack of shit for that exact reason.

Unlike most characters she's actively described as a raw youkai that is scary and an active headfuck just to look at her. She's even described as "not being a kind person."

In addition she's a deserter on the lam and at night the moon rabbits still on the Moon can communicate with her (through the moon rabbit psionic WAN, that's never really explained,) and I can only imagine they keep whispering, even when she's asleep: "traitor, traitor, traitor."

Her shit is all sorts of fucked up ,that's why she's amusing. Reisen can't have nice things.

She is one of the most level-headed characters in the cast and is neither retarded nor criminally arrogant like everyone else.

She bears with being overworked or experimented on, to make up for her betrayal, which only makes me want to hug her. She is hardworking for her masters, careful towards other people, yet can be nice to others (taking care of sick Tewi in PoFV or protesting against rabbit stew in BAiJR).

She is also rather smart and undoubtedly can read others' personalites easily as well. Mostly humble (unless boasting about her powers), does not tackle the problems head-on like Marisa and often just makes herself invisible to avoid conflict.

And lest we forget about her being a total beauty and having propably the most awesome and creative danmaku power to boot (fake bullet barrages, clones, lazors and extemely fluid style in Soku).

My 2nd favorite 2hu and she will ever stay as one. A dream sister or best friend for me (with Sanae being a girlfriend / wife).
