AT1 only had dubbed movies which were replaced by custom-hardsubbed ones based on the Japanese version, that's all.

Because the pack hasn't been updated since 2010. It also has a bunch of BIOSes (even PS1 one, obviously unused by PCSX2) instead of the latest one (PCSX2 is region-free).

Delta's back story sounds like Croix's what with the whole 'young member of an elite squad' deal, but hopefully they do something interesting with his character. The business owner angle has potential for a character that actually is sensible. It's also nice to see that they seemed to have stepped up their 3D models from the previous titles.
On another note I'm glad they're finally moving to different designs for their characters. Arshes look badass, and I can't wait to see how it handles in combat. Hopefully combat is actually more of an action game than something in between like in AT3.

The game was clearly rushed as hell at some points, especially near the end when it's like OH WE HAVE TO GO TO THIS PLACE and they start talking about it as if there was ever any prior information that everyone should already know about that would make it important, but there never was.
The combat system was just pretty damn dull, and the characters were all pretty damn terrible or lackluster. The original japanese version's new game PLUS didn't even function correctly.

Goddamn I regret going fennel's route, her cosmosphere just devolved into pure creepshow.

Wow I'm quite surprised to find an Ar Tonelico thread in /jp/ (first time here). Since I won't get any answers at /jrpgg/ I thought I'd ask here. Playing AT2 currently and got to the splitting point. I'm having a hard time choosing which path cuz of the sheer fact that I don't like both of the heroine. Aurica and Misha from the first game were likable that I was able to decide which path I could choose but Luca and Cloche were fucking autistic bitches.

Artist is just a yurifag on pixiv, she says in the comments that it's just how the confession scene with the player was like to her. Ion does eventually tell the player she loves you though if you get her affection high enough, so if a woman is playing the game then it will come off as yuri-ish at that moment. Although Ion occasionally refers to you with masculine terms so it's not like you would be able to pretend for long without being reminded that Ion thinks the player is a man.

Although Nei/Ion is a complete crack pairing because even if Nei was a lesbian, her being attracted to Ion would be creepy on so many levels considering the history they have.

You get her in phase 4 and there are 5 phases. Don't clear anyone's cosmosphere level 5 until you figure out who you want.

I found Misha and Aurica to be equally proactive, although Misha is perkier at the very beginning. On the whole, AT1 reyvateils are far more appreciative of the male lead than the ones in AT2, excepting Cocona. Luca suffers from this the most because she doesn't have an archetype to mitigate anything.

People don't mind if Cloche treats them like dirt because she is just acting tsundere, and she has Replekia. People don't mind if Jaqli is snarky and aloof because she has her mission, and her baggage is already known by the player first hand. Luca is indecipherable between her masks and the shitty translation.

I think that a simple "thank you" or a hug for guarding Luca during her route would have changed many people's opinion of her. But without gestures like that even her mom shows more affection towards Croix than she does.

So far I've done all routes in all games except for one, Cocona's route in Ar tonelico 2 ( I had no idea that was an option ).

Hymmnos songs are indisputably Dimension Shattering-tier and it's useless to repeat that, but even the general soundtrack for AT1 and AT2 is so good. As far as I know the emulator works well.
You need a decent CPU though, it's not the most optimized pieceo of emulation software.
