I think Ghidora looks too big there as well.
And I'm not an expert on this, but I just watched the first few movies a few days ago and I' pretty sure they said Godzilla should be about 50m. Though I guess they're never really that consistant there anyway.

Pretty shocking.
Reminds me of how I never understood the original transition of Godzila from destroyer to defender of Japan from the other monsters. Anyone mind explaining that to me? Bigger badder monsters coming to destroy Japan, so he decides to stop them?

Everyone knows that Godzila represents the atomic bomb, so I am thinking his defence of Japan is suppose to be the transtion of America as destroyer to becoming Japan's Ally. The first Godzila was dramatic and at one point horrofying, because the people could only see the bomb in his rampage, but the whole series became rather goofy and silly. I suppose the large Si-Fi influence is what I am talking about. It became a novilty series instead of leaving it as a single movie masterpeice reflecting the horrors Japan faced in the quake of being nuked.

Makes sense. Do you think that was somewhat pushed onto the director from the studios at the time? He did after all go on to create Ultra Q wherr his priducers forced him to create a new monster of the week in every episode instead of allowing him to focus more on his original concept of si-fi like detectives of Japan taking on the super natural cases they're hired for. He made Ultra man afterwords too with countless other films and sentai.

Pacific Rim originally started as said live action Eva movie, or at least based on its script. It was released akin to a western superhero theatrical experience (like Iron Man and such) probably because they saw where the money was at and there was no reason not to play it safe while having a nice budget to work with.

Though I wouldn't really know, I'm just assuming, having not watched it yet. Maybe it goes all psycho and stuff as its about to end.

Nope. It doesn't. No dark struggle plaging the hearts of man and the dark plans of a small militart to bring fourth the appocolypse. Nothing edgy. Really just one of the worst movies he has ever made. All the CGI bullshit took away so much of what he had accomplished in his other work that was artiatic and well made in terms of plot, script, and character development.

Deltora was a director I could look up to in what he made happen in movies with the meaningful messages. Thia was nothing like the new Godzila movie coming out. It was a MAKE EM BIG MAKE BIG MONEY movie. The movie was comparible to something cruddy michale bay makes, that being cinimatic garbage only the current hollywood could release. They even had "Difirent Demensional beings". Gosh hollywood and "Muh Aliens!" again.

I saw this movie recently.
It was so full of plot holes and shit I could not stop complaining.
Main aspect of that is MCs jaeger.
At one point it uses diesel engines and has fuel that is leaking at the next it is nuclear and this contradiction happens several times.
Also it is analog, really they want me to believe their fancy head up display, holographs and neural linking is entirely analog, even the fucking nuclear reactor is entirely made analog.

Compare everthing hes done before Pacific Rim and then Paxific Rim and you will think its a different person directing it. It was so Hollywood that I don't even know who Del Toro is anymore.
