11409190 No.11409190 [Reply] [Original]

First they came for our lolies, now they're coming for our rape porn.

The British government is starting its next phase against illegal porn. The initial stage, as before, is to officially requesting that ISPs block access to sites that have violent porn. Prime Minister Cameron also stated that possessing pornography containing SIMULATED rape scenes (violence, sex slavery, etc) will be made a crime in England and Wales. The Institute that evaluates images already considers the type of topic in this picture to be violent and sex-related.

I expect the next Republican president will want to copycat this as part of Protect Act 2 (or whatever new name they call it).

Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT), together with the ACLU of Pennsylvania and Plantagenet, Inc., a Pennsylvania ISP, filed a constitutional challenge to a Pennsylvania statute that blocked access to Internet sites accused of carrying child pornography and that resulted in the blocking of wholly innocent websites. Almost exactly one year later, on September 10, 2004, the court struck down the statute as violating the First Amendment and the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution.

In other words, blocking child porn with actual children is unconstitutional due to the fact that it might block legit websites. There is no way this would pass.

I think the big problem with these laws is that you can't really defend what they're against. There's probably some system of ethics in law like you have to prove a law is harmful, and I'm sure they can dig up evidence that lolicon may lead to child molestation and simulated rape might lead to sexual assault. Then the lawmakers get to say, "Well, why not?"
People always argue against piracy laws with arguments like, "Oh legitimate websites could get blocked," or against obscenity laws with, "Certain works of art would have to be banned," but when it comes down it you can't really argue against, "Lolicon and simulated rape should be illegal," even if it's completely stupid.
How do you argue against something like that? It's not people's God-given right that they're allowed this porn. Are YOU a paedophile, Mr Contrarian? Why else would you fight against this law? Turn in your Member of Parliament badge at the door. Serves you right for having a fetish that the Great British Public don't find fashionable. I respectfully submit that your argument is bollocks.

UK gov knows jack shit about the web. They're stuck in a woeful death-spiral of trying to legislate against a worldwide comms network, full of protocols they don't understand and covered by layers of obfuscation and encryption the likes of which they cannot even comprehend.

Despite my having neither raep or loli pron on my machines, the idea that any of the fucking arseclowns in westminster are able to write a law that is up to the task and won't be circumvented in a manner of seconds is, quite frankly, laughable.

Case in point. Us UKfags had piratebay blocked about two years ago. Back in March, ISPs blocked h33t, fenopty, and kat.ph. All of those sites are readily available. More importantly, the ridiculous isp-blocks have simply meant that getting a VPN connection is getting more and more popular here.

Cameron, May, Mensch, and all of those other bibbles quite frankly do not even have the merest of clues. They should all fuck off back to facebook.

Why just banning porn when you can ban books for children, too?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2229022/Now-Brussels-takes-aim-Famous-Five-Books-portraying-traditional-families-barred.html

>Books which portray ‘traditional’ images of mothers caring for their children or fathers going out to work could be barred from schools under proposals from Brussels.
>An EU report claims that ‘gender stereotyping’ in schools influences the perception of the way boys and girls should behave and damages women’s career opportunities in the future.

This is what happens when normals find out about some new form of subculture. Having never dedicated themselves to a culture themselves they decide to observe it out of boredom. They become shocked by what they see, wonder why it isn't the same as everything else; the same plainness which they are now bored of. They then proceed to dissect it, remove what they don't like about it, and bastardize it. And after they are done with their sociopathic butchery they simply leave to find out what new subculture their friends have decided to play around with for a few months, it's only a phase for them after all. And the people who originally enjoyed this culture are left with the regurgitated remains of what once was.

It's happening with video games. The dumbing down of core gameplay mechanics, the insistence on making everything a 'cinematic experience' with an 'epic narrative.' The insistence on removing any form of (female) sexuality so that it can 'become a true artistic medium.'

It's happening with anime and otaku culture as well. The blatant attempts to whitewash anything that might offend foreign consumers of the medium. The sexuality, the hyperviolence, and just about anything else that is too extreme for them to handle. In the end, we will be left with nothing but the same generic romances and hamfisted, black and white action movies that only enforce a widely accepted morality.

Hell, it's already starting to trickle down into TRPGs. So I'm mentally prepared for when they decide collectively destroy that.

>>11410037
And then watch normals destroy it like they have many times over? They'll tell us to 'move on and get a life,' when they have already destroyed everything that made yours bearable. I remember a lot of people being upset about D&D 4E, something about how they made it more like World of Warcraft and more action-based. I saw the trailer where it showed hip young people using laptops, and it really turned me off.

Also, a few days ago I was lurking /co/ (sorry) and there were threads about how superhero films are slowly ruining comics. Apparently, the characters in the Avengers are slowly turning into their film counterparts, because that's what the normal people want. And Deadpool used to be just an ordinary character with a few throwaway gags that got popular on the internet, but now he's all zany and meme-savvy because that's what people know him for.

We need to go back to the unwritten agreement that was, "We are freaks with fringe interests. Stay out of our business and we'll stay out of yours."
