Which was better, /jp/, Higurashi or Umineko?

>> No.11233878

umineko if ep6, 7, and 8 didn't exist

>> No.11233884

K1 better protag.

Umineko better if you ignore Chiru.

Higurashi has the best story chapter though.

Umineko has the better motion graphics.

That makes no sense
That whole list says they're equal, where did that extra .1 come from?

>> No.11234025

>>11234011
All it says is that the characters are as good, for the other points it just says which is rated higher, nothing about by how much.

And the categories are probably not weighted equal either.

I was just going to put that they're both 8s in my book, but I arbitrarily chose Higurashi to give an extra point to because of nostalgia.

You probably mean if ep 2-8 didn't exist.

Higurashi described the border between sanity and insanity like how Umineko explored what it meant for something to be known or unknown. They seem similar but are fundamentally different for me, so I don't compare them. That said, my I have more Umineko pictures/music than Higurashi pictures/music so if I had to choose, Umineko wins.

Higurashi in my opinion.

>> No.11234253

No one here has actually read Higurashi.

I agree with everything. But they deserve a 9.

>> No.11234260

I read the entire first episode and half of the second then stopped because I got confused as to why the store magically restarted in a different timeline when it seemed as though the story was over.

>> No.11234269

>>11234260
Did you think they would never explain that?

>> No.11234273

Yeah, they probably do atleast deserve that.

>> No.11234301

>>11234256
They would be a 9 if they didn't have certain cringeworthy scenes.

I'm talking about Irie's ridiculous speech in Matsuribayashi-hen and Erika's chopstick crap.

Everything else is amazing.

The Shion/Mion things was dragging on for quite a long time. I was tired of club games type stuff and just wanted more murder mystery stuff after what I previously just saw.

>> No.11234411

Higurashi is a masterpiece, Umineko is a flawed greater masterpiece.

>> No.11235318

Higurashi is a masterpiece and every chapter is great. Umineko has two great episodes (3 and 4) while the rest are mediocre or absolute shit. So Higurashi easily wins. Also with Higurashi you can feel the passionate doujin attitude and that Ryuukishi truly cares about the characters and the fans, whereas in Umineko he is full of himself and talks down to his readers. I guess the fame from Higurashi got to his head.

They're pretty different though so I could see someone potentially preferring Umineko. If they had shit taste.

Stopped reading there.

>> No.11236151

I thought the slice of life shit in higgy was boring, but the intrigue and plotting in umineko was a lot more interesting. Umineko in general was a lot more interesting to me.

>> No.11236169

I watched the anime and Higurashi more I liked
