I had a brief glimpse of the all-encompassing during an event which nearly took my life.

Part of what I experienced was seeing clearly that nothing is to be taken for granted, and our time here is very limited and precious. Do what is best for not only yourself, but all living things. Do not fear death, for it is impermanent in the same way that life is impermanent, and the state of being, before being born was also impermanent; the fact that we are here to reflect upon it is a testament to that.
