I have a few questions about Japanese P2P.

1. Are the Japanese still primarily using Perfect Dark? Wikipedia links to a story about someone actually being arrested for downloading using PD, by way of the new laws against it, so I assume people have backed off of PD to some extent?

2. I read here a while back that there was a new P2P program they were developing, if not using, with a link to a thread on 2channel about it. I can't find it in the archive, though. Anyone have any more information on this? The name started with an 'A' IIRC.

3. I heard somewhere that there was a way to crack PD so as to bypass Unity, but I've been unable to find any information about it. I assume it's not true, but if anyone knows anything about that, please share.

1. Share has always been their most popular P2P software. The number of both Share and PD nodes has decreased pretty greatly.

2. Amoeba.

3. Please refer to the links in this thread: http://awabi.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/download/1338997727/

I take it that they are still all windows-specific and unstable using wine on mac?

The content depends on who is online at the time. The amount of files always varies. There might be some website that caches the files or something, but I don't think so. Even when you start PD after it being not having ran it for a few days, you need to wait a few minutes to get the most amount of files available to you in the search.

The main thing I've always worried about with PD was unity. I don't want it putting any illegal shit onto my computer, so I've never used the program. If that crack actually bypasses unity, that's great.
