How do you know you are not a brain in a jar?
Technology can make you see artificial stuff and feel artificial life. Eirin can make your brain feel like you're on jp when you actually are just a brined brain.

How do you know you are not a brain looking at simulated reality?

1)If everybody is just brain in a jar and its so advaced that everybody is fooled by it, why even bother, "this" virtual world is as ''real'' as the other one.

2) You don't know, what the other world is like right? It might be total hell with only pain and suffering. The "reality" is not necessary better than an illiusion.

3)If all around you is simulated reality, then there is possibilty of making things the way you want them to be, right? Illiusion is easier to bend.

I've read a story about this once. There was a slightly-mad professor that recorded every possible feeling one can experience and made a kinda-gramophone that read the "tape" in a random-like manner. He had several separate systems like these simulating different people. One of them was an oldish man, another was a busty sexbomb etc. The last one of was a scientist who believed that he is inside a machine and attempted to create a life-simulator. It's strongly implied he modeled it after himself. It was written by Lem and iirc was in the Star Diaries compilation.
Ending this small tangent, does this really matter what is our consciousness inside? If the world is merely an unbreakable illusion the problem is a nonissue, pretty much, since the fact doesn't change anything.
