Hi, /jp/ I've been playing AA for a while now and it's getting pretty boring, mostly because I've really been hungering for some more character interactions and a bit less sexual content. So then, that leads me to my question. Are there any anime styled customized character games that work more like the sims and less like a sex game? I've tried just getting into the sims but it just doesn't do much for me. I want it to have more of the same highschool theme. I know things like tokimeki memorial come close, but it's still not exactly what I want.

I know it's a longshot but I figured I would try anyways. If nothing else we can turn this into a general AA thread.

I've been thinking about making one, and started doing the designs for the database that would store the information necessary to do varied and accurate interactions, as well as store personalities.

Then I started having nightmares about the project, and had to get a job. If anyone was actually interested in paying money for such a game, I'd make it, but since I lack 3D modelling and animation experience, I'd basically be creating a text-based game with shitty art by me.

I want something more customizable and I'm looking for more of a friend simulator than just a sex one. Even something like AA but more all-aged and a bit more interactions would be good. I was thinking/hoping there was some sort of game similar to that geared towards female otaku, but all I can find is otome-ge.

Well, even something as simple as a ton of mods for Artificial Academy could provide something similar to what OP is talking about. Currently I'm making a generic all-aged galge and though it's not customizable(that sort of thing is beyond me,as is much of the programming) it's going to center more around making friends with your classmates than even PG romance. I'm using novelty to make mine, and it's proven pretty useful(since like I said, no programing experience). Though I would possibly be interested in a programmer.

I've also purchased quite a bit of free-license materials(backgrounds, music, voice clips etc). Characters are done and plot is taken care of so all I have to do is finish the tons and tons of artwork for various CGs and the like.

If anyone here has used novelty and can attest to it's success in making a finished project I'd like to hear your experiences.

I see no real point in doing a PG rated game like this unless I created a fully modular implementation, which you would need to be a programmer to bother messing with it.

That is true(I'm mostly doing mine PG at them moment because I can't be arsed into doing any sex scenes.) I plan on having the game be free/cheap in the meantime and then supplying an update to add in sex scenes and the like later on. I'm mostly just doing it all for fun, and because I have tons of time on my hands to do so. It's pretty fun actually. Dialogue is much easier to write than narratives.

I can see hardcore pornography anywhere, but I can't have an interactive waifu sim. I'd go nuts if there was a girl simulator game just based around talking and interacting with her, almost like a virtual pet game.

See, this game was fun for a bit, but the online part stops it from it's real potential. I don't much care for talking to others, no matter how good they can roleplay. It makes me feel like much less of a creep to talk to programmed characters.

Though a sex-less sim like AA with more in-depth character interaction and more complex relationships would be fun. The best you'll get are probably dating sims.

Artificial Academy was a sandbox game. I mean, it gets boring after playing it because it never ends, there's no goal. Atleast they could have made seasons and graduation or something.
