This is my take on it too. While I didn't particularly like her over any other members, I did appreciate hercomedic timing and one liners. Her overreaction gave credit to the scandal, the tabloid that ran it, and was completely selfish. She's always put herself over the group, but this took it to a new, grotesque level of self-importance. I really can't stand the sight of her now.

She's been #3 the past few years on stage48's annual poll, I've seen similar from French and South American sites. Can't say anything about Chinese fans though.

Imagine you’re an AKB48 fan and you stumble across a website offering emails with one of the girls you’ve obsessed over for so long. All it costs is 450 yen per letter. And then, after you’ve sunk around $27,000 on this correspondence, you make plans to meet up with this idol for a clandestine date - only she never shows, because her manager comes by unexpectedly, or some other excuse. Would you get suspicious? That’s exactly what happened to one man, who went to the authorities and helped bust a ring of scam artists posing as the ladies of AKB48.

The site reportedly bilked 210 million yen from unsuspecting hopefuls who just wanted a little attention from their favorite idols. The scam artists forged emails with information pulled from official websites and suckered around 2100 idol otaku. The ringleader, a 31-year-old CEO of this “deai-kei” dating site (which sometimes arrange paid introductions, but also run towards a more Pretty Woman kind of service) was arrested in Chiba prefecture on organized crime charges.
If you’ve done your math, then you know that at 450 yen per email, some of these guys bought thousands of emails in an attempt to woo the ladies of Japan’s most scandalous pop group. That’s a lot of writers helping gullible otaku believe that AKB48’s no dating policy means they’re saving themselves for the highest bidder.

So I was watching Acchan's new drama and now I want to ask /jp/, regardless of your preference for one or the other, who do you think is the best actress, Acchan or Yuko?
For me is Yuko, she has more experience and versatility, she's great in comedy and drama alike, whereas Acchan is more suited for a certain kind of role. what do you think?

Well, I don't know about Acchan since I've only seen her in MG, but from what I've seen from Yuko, she can pull off really different roles (her role in MG was completely different to her role in the So Long drama and both were done perfectly).

It's not a hard decision.
Acchan is horrible at acting, but gets more lead roles (Q10, Hana Kimi). Supporting roles in Saikou no Jinsei no Owarikata and Kasuka na Kanojo.

Yuko is better but only gets supporting roles (Kaeru no Oujo-sama, Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu, Reinoryokusha Odagiri Kyoko no Uso, Angel Bank). Her dramas are actually enjoyable to watch.

I'm aware of that, I always thought it was a very strong hint rather than an outright firing.
The other reason I wonder about it is idols (like Miichan) generally start before they're 18, while their parents could defnitely give consent, I'm not sure they could on relationship rules.

And regardless, my point was more that she wasn't really punished period. Forget not being fired, the only thing they did was "demote" her to a KKS, which is really nothing more than symbolic. If they had said, hey, no TV appearances for a year, you can't run in the senbatsu, etc take the time to reflect on your actions, then I would be more accepting. But no, they don't really do anything, and it seems like they just treat it like a joke.

An idol's job is 24/7. And regardless, they are representing the group. Whether you do something on the job or off the job doesn't matter. Sasshi's happened years past, when she was a KKS. That to me is more forgiveable because she was still new, didn't keep it up, etc. Minegishi knows better.
