I've only played Mad Father of these; are the rest similar?
Only other games I've played like Mad Father though were Corpse Party and Ao Oni. Corpse Party being the only commercial one I know of, though it's worth it. I've heard it has a sequel/ prequel thing out now too.

And as for Yume Nikki... it's neat, but not all that fun or cool. Best part is finding the hidden stuff (basically everything) but most of it there is no way to find without looking it up, which defeats the purpose.

The rest are somewhat similar.

Misao was made my the same person who made Mad Father (it was made first), and The Witch's House follows the same principle of puzzles and your occasional scare.

Ib is a bit different but fundamentally is a creepy rpg game with puzzles, definitely worth a look if you liked any of the others.

Yume Nikki is a thing which you grow to love I guess, there're quite a lot of games inspired by it which stand pretty well on their own and could do with a look in if you're into the exploration type of game.

That's such awesome news. I like all the games being discussed here, but Ib really stood out to be mas having a unique world, cast, and atmosphere, as well as the art style, and having more of it is awesome.

It's just really shitty. It just reeks of low effort graphically with the mismatched character portraits that were obviously just taken from wherever at random and using the default RTP house tileset which doesn't work at all for horror.

The core gameplay is shitty too. I can see how it was trying to go for a Clock Tower vibe, but it just fails at that on every level. The first time the stupid looking oni chases you it's awful because it runs at the exact same speed as you so half the time you can't hide in your hiding spot because it's right on your ass and will just open the cupboard and kill you. Then you realize that it just gives up chasing you after a while and it just becomes this annoying thing you have to do every once in a while after a jump scare. And that's really all there is to the game.
