I started my first minecraft-game 3 days ago. I've built a nice little mountain hut, a farm and i visited the hell through a gate (and died because a monster destroyed the gate somehow). I think i've done now everything possible in Minecraft.
What do you do after that? Begin a new game and repeat it? Or just building things on creative mode?

I don't like the direction Minecraft is headed. It seems more like an adventure/RPG game than an autism game.

Also the new blocks and how you position them is dumb. Everything should be made of blocks, not upside down stairs or whatever. It's like if Lego added triangle pieces. Buildings should be "semantic" (e.g. "This house has a roof made of brick blocks") as well as aesthetic.

You'd better have collected those materials yourself. I don't know why, but I lose all respect for people who just use Creative mode (and I'm a little ticked off they added it to the regular client).

This probably seems picky but if there was some slope you're supposed to build on (i.e. it had pegs) I'd be ticked off. Though these are still slightly annoying.

If you've ever played with Hammer for Half-Life and its derivatives, it's the difference between editing things using the in-editor tools (including using prefabs) and just importing a 3D model (which may not have proper collision and so on). Same for Radiant.

The only real challenge is getting the redstone to link up right. And that's not creative, that's just time-consuming and requires a knowledge of redstone. If you already understand how redstone connects, you can make it without any thought or retracing your steps.

I'd agree if it was something that didn't exist in the real world, like an efficient minecart dispensing system, but we all know how logic gates and flip-flops work in the real world, we all know how they work in Minecraft. Making ten full adders is no more impressive than making one full adder, and making one full adder is no more impressive than making one half adders, etc.

Extremely so. Redstone is analogous to electricity in a loose sense.

A redstone signal is either present, or it is not. The least signal provides as much power and the greatest signal.

for me it gives me the feeling of a rogue-like adventure in this way. Maybe it's because I grew up playing early 90's FPS games but the defaults don't bother me at all. I have used packs, sure they're nicer, but I don't get people who get so frustrated by them that they HAVE to replace them and then tell everyone else playing to use their tex pack.
