I did group therapy last year for 4 weeks to deal with depression. It was recommended by my psychiatrist.

The youngest person after me in the group was 42, everyone else was a woman in their mid 50s and older (I never realized being a middle aged woman can be so depressing). They dominated every group session with topics ranging from 'why can't I find a partner, all men are interested in 18 year old girls' to 'My daughter/son had their 30th birthday, I feel so old' etc.

Also, I sat next to a lady in her 50s who treated me like I was her son, and she smelled like a nursing home for old people, it was nauseating to sit next to her.

I went to a therapy where we got to a point that all of us were going to receive some hugs. I didn't hug back and it shocked everybody. One woman cried when I didn't hug back.
