Check out the article for the male only concert they held for example, http://www.oricon.co.jp/news/music/2018454/full/ it clearly says 1万1000 in there. Groups will often not sell as many tickets as = theatre capacity, because it isn't as easy to say you sold out. And regardless if you think AKB couldn't get 10,000 female fans then you are crazy. I already see plenty of women at the stage performances and concerts.

I don't get why everybody hasn't moved to Youku and Dailymotion by now, to be honest.
Unlike YouTube, neither of them has a three strikes rule that gets your channel closed down after three consecutive infringements. Plus Dailymotion now supports 720i and 1080i alright.
Uploading videos on YouTube seems just a waste of effort these days.

Also, why did Sae's twitter get suspended again? Yesterday, she and Maryiannu opened their own accounts, but Sae's went down after sending a couple of inaugural tweets.

youku is excruciatingly slow for me. I don't know why, but the download tops at, like, 20k for me. And dailymotion is pretty painfully slow too, topping at (if I recall correctly) 150k or so for me.

I guess that's youtube's biggest advantage, and why I still use it to watch Nogidoko and AKBINGO before they're uploaded to H!O.

It's basically senbatsu plus a few other girls taking the test; Kikuchi was there, which is good, she's dumb as hell and she could use the exposure from "winning". Yamamoto usually came in first when NMB did surprise tests on their show, she seems to be smartest out of the girls confirmed to be in the episode.

And those highschool exam scores, I don't know how accurate they'd be, the girls don't know about the Mechaike test (or even that they're on the show) until they show up. They've talked about it on Ariyoshi, Kawaei is really good at studying for tests but actually pretty dumb otherwise, she did horribly on Shukan AKB tests.

Not that I dislike W Haruka being together, i didn't like how the show almost completely focused on Paru and I say that even if she my kamioshi.
If you make an episode focusing on two members, it should do just that. Focus on the TWO members. Just made me feel bad for Shimada.

From what I've understood, the graduated members must register before running in the Sousenkyo. You can't just vote for anyone who has been in the group for at least 4 years, only those who submitted their candidacy.

Either way, many members who are considered part of the "old-timers" would still be unable to participate. Think of Maimai for example, technically she would be left out of the race since she graduated before the end of the 4th year. Why bother?

Sure is interesting when they take away the whole "everyone participates, technically anyone could make senbatsu" aspect of the whole thing.

Sousenkyo used to be the harsh reality of AKB, and awakened mixed feelings of fear, hope and tension in both the girls and fans. A place where one's efforts could be rewarded, dreams of senbatsu both crushed and realised. Now it's going to be a popularity contest... where you can participate if you happen to feel like it, and girls who aren't even in the group can get above you if you do decide to run in the election.

Sousenkyo is really one of the big things that sets AKB apart, sad to see that the management feels like messing with that tradition.

That's correct.
Even if it's probably not the reason the new rules were added, I guess this is going to make the election process much less chaotic and time-consuming.
Allowing every member (including KKS) in the 48 family to film her own appeal video and create her own election poster was surely a nice idea, but over time the workload must have gotten too big for the staff to handle. Not to mention that last time they even hired someone to write down the English subs for every video. ALL of them!
Imagine all the unnecessary work that goes into this kind of promotion every year.
It was a sensible decision to narrow the roster down, letting in only those girls who feel they can realistically make it.
Maybe that'll spare us a bunch of KKS videos nobody really cares about.
