What's the point of /jp/ when we have /a/? I honestly don't understand.

to escape the hell that was 07'-10' /a/ that consisted of 50% choose your own adventure threads and tons of people complaining about LNs, VNs, and touhou which weren't anime or manga despite choose your own adventure threads not being either of those anyways

then /a/ over time became more like /jp/ anyways
but /jp/ still keeps its niche uses as weeaboo/random and probably the closes thing we'll ever have to the entertaining hilariously dumb 4chan years

But /jp/ is where we gather to organize the shitposting on /a/. What are we going to do without it? It would be stupid to organize in /a/ directly.

>> No.10625591

/a/ is for anime and mangas.
/jp/ is for all the japanese stuffs that doesn't fit in the other boards, including touhou
At least that's how it was supposed to be.

>> No.10625634

Wasn't /jp/ made to get touhou out of /a/?
So, /a/ has anime and manga discussions.
/jp/ has LN, touhou, idol, NEET, and what the fuck ever threads.

>> No.10625635

>/a/ where all mainstream is shit and no one has heard of the spoiler tag
>/jp/ basically traps
Least that is my experience

vns and 2hu could go in /v/
onaholes in /g/
trains in /n/
tea in /ck/
mahjong in /tg/
idols in /mu/

it's dumb to exclude animu. /jp/ should be 2d/random, not whatever the janitor thinks looks japanese.

>> No.10625646

/a/ = Quality discussions with Facebook features also anime.

/jp/ = Shitposting general and others things that degrade /a/ quality.

>> No.10625649

A lot of us don't watch anime anymore.

So you're saying that the raw reading elite should mix with the peasants that require translations?

/a/ still gets used as a trash dump, because it has more readers so people who want to post trash threads post them there so they'll get seen by more people.

Also /jp/'s janitor is just waaay too good for their taste, their trash doesn't survive long enough here.

/jp/ is the misc. Japanese pop culture board, that's it, that's all. It's not actually supposed to be a garbage bag. Well, none of the boards are intentionally supposed to be toilets, even /a/, but, hey, you know.

/v/ warred and raged over vn's not being games for years until about 2012 I think
nobody uses /n/, so I doubt there would be issues other than no replies
tea is probbly fine on /ck/
/tg/ gad some completely insane modsand back then you probably would've been banned for posting saki or akagi
I know nothing about /mu/
and see
>>10625582
it was stuff that should've been in other boards but wasn't due to to other boards' userbases and mods not liking what their rules actually pertained to
and /v/ also just called touhou weeaboo shit and ignored it

...Actually, never mind, /a/ is actually looking semi-healthy tonight. Better than here. I've seen /v/ in better shape than it's in right now, though. Same explanation, they have more visitors.

>> No.10625746

/a/ are niwaka bitch boys
/jp/ are real otaku hardcore badasses
