I 1CC'd Perfect Cherry Blossom on normal some months ago. Now want to beat lunatic, but I'd need daily practice for that.
I'm interested, is there any casual player here who can 1CC any of the Touhou STGs on lunatic?

>> No.1052719

I did beat normal modo with every character except Sakuya type B. Her bomb is weird. Fuck that shit.

Also Phantasm is easier than hard mode. At least for me. I can't beat hard mode. Again, fuck that shit.

You mean... nowhere, right?

Because she's dead.
She doesn't gain or lose weight.
Also, because she is perfect.

>> No.1052771

last week I almost did it too. But I fucked up and had 0 lives 0 bombs after Yuyuko, so I got killed by the final resuscitation afterwards. And also had this same shit on EoSD - last Remilia's spellcard with 0 lives 0 bombs... Just couldn't manage it.

But I 1CC'd IN on saturday, my first touhou game that I got a good end in.

>> No.1052786

Ok guys, now do it without the bomb-whore that is Sakuya.

>> No.1052789

>>1052708
I 1CCed PCB Lunatic recently, as SakuyaA (easiest character). I think most people could eventually manage this if they practice correctly. Don't play when you're tired or distracted, and stop playing as soon as your skill starts to decrease. Overtraining is easily possible. My biggest skill increases occurred when I returned to the game after a few days break.

>> No.1052827

i beat EoSD on lunatic, but couldn't 1cc'ed it (fuck Scarlet Gensokyo)

>> No.1052831

>>1052827

>> No.1052850

>>1052789
From where in the world did you get this idea of "overtraining?" Care to explain in greater detail?

>> No.1052873

>>1052850
If you play too much you'll get worse. I can't prove it's real, but it sure seemed like it when I was playing. Playing only about 1 hour a day 5 times a week gave best results.

>> No.1052941

>>1052873
I agree that it might seem as if your skill is dropping sometimes, but I can't imagine it having a negative effect on your long-term skill.
On the other hand, I am reminded of this thing about "developing bad habits" that someone mentioned when talking about IaMP. An idea I never really bought, though.

>> No.1052976

>>1052941
Developing bad habits really do happen from "overtraining". When I used to play the Touhou shooters somewhat more often than I do now. I developed a habit of wanting to always bomb when in tight spots without trying to dodge. This eventually got worse as I kept on playing and the times I would start to bomb would be when the bullets were farther and farther away.

>> No.1053061

>>1052976
You're hardly going to bomb AFTER you've failed to get through a tight spot. It's a good habit, but you have to keep it in check.

>> No.1053083

it helps in PCB to constantly tap but not press the bomb button so when you get hit you will be ready to bomb and avoid losing life.

>> No.1053109

>>1052663
slowing your movement is for nubs, you'll never improve if you keep slowing down the bullets, never use the shift key.

>> No.1053111

>>1052976

Opposite problem myself, I always leave it right until the last second, usually dying before getting the bomb off to save myself out of a tight spot.

It's helpful I guess to learn how to get through the patterns without using bombs, but sometimes it's just damn handy to just clear the fucking screen and get yourself into a better position.

It would probably help me more if I made a point of watching replays to avoid getting trapped in the cornering spell cards, but that takes the fun out of it. I've had to work out the tricks to each card and the best places to put myself... even if sometimes I'll have trouble with cards others consider easy.

>> No.1053119

>>1053083

Then after an hour of playing... you'll have a seizure-like hand.

>> No.1053118

I got no balls and when ever there's a spellcard that slowly corners you, I can't bring myself to dodge through the gaps in it.

Bombs are the best.

>> No.1053888

With Sakuya, how do you beat the trumpeter's opening attack on hard?

I can capture all the spellcards and such on that level, but that attack with the spirit things that weave back and forth eats like three or so bombs.

>> No.1053933

>>1053888
they follow set paths. save replays, learn those paths, abuse them.

I'd prefer it if there was some kind of spell practice mode for normal boss attacks.

>> No.1053974

>>1053888
I REALLY need to learn this. I can fairly consistently 1CC lunatic with Sakuya B but that god damn attack usually takes 2-3 bombs every single time. I feel your pain.

>> No.1053982

PCB is a wonderful game and I love every part of it EXCEPT FOR THE FUCKING PRISMRIVERS. Goddamnit they suck all of the fun out of the game. I managed to 1cc it on normal once, but since I was high as a fucking kite I doubt I'll be able to do it again.

PROTIP: Get to Yuyuko, pause the game, hit the bong, unpause and enjoy the shit out of the patterns. Holy balls.

>> No.1054000

>>1053982
PROTIP: Attack Lyrica when they all show up the first time. Her pattern is fairly easy to get used to, and it'll make those two attacks a whole lot easier. This is really true in hard/lunatic.

I generally found Youmu harder than the Prismrivers.

>> No.1054015

>>1053982
Ya Yuyuko is such an amazing final boss. So gentle, so deadly, so elegant. Fits her character perfectly god damn. You know someone's good at making shooter games when they can use danmaku to flesh out a character.
