Every Touhou doujin is good. Happy flame time doujins have a special place in my heart because the artist and author herself goes out of the way to tell you her perverted fantasies and fawn over characters in the middle of the doujin.

I'm just curious though. Other than the porn, it doesn't seem very special in any way. Even the drawing style is bland. Dying Sakuya doesn't really explore any of the possibilities that can occur in that situation, and the whole "Sakuya is gonna die" thing was just used as a device to get Remilia and Sakuya together in bed. I know you didn't make it out to be a masterpiece or anything, or even a great doujin, but still, I think calling it "pretty good" is giving it too much credit.

>Other than the porn

Well it was never about porn

It was just a good setup I guess. The atmosphere is calm despite the supposed gloom fate that awaits at the end. Yet despite the calmness you can see just a bit of longing and sadness. Most of these are demonstrated by a few panels that showed some very well done facial expressions.

Of course it has a good and amusing end. If you simply disagree with everything then I don't really know what else is there to discuss. It's not an optic illusion that I can "teach" you the trick to, I just felt everything worked well in it and consider the times it gets brought up, quite a few other people feel the same way

Yes I did. I read Dying Sakuya right after VSIONNERZ's doujin, and yawned. Even reading the raws were better than reading DS translated.

Instead of exploring Sakuya's mortality, it runs with the opposite and wonders what would happen if Remilia made Sakuya into an immortal vampire. I'm really surprised that I haven't come across any doujins that attempted to build a plot around this. And for a doujinka that does silly and over-the-top humor, he does a surprisingly excellent job at creating a melancholic Sakuya.

[spoilers]At least Marisa becomes a youkai magician and Reimu becomes some sort of "super miko" so there still around when Sakuya is approximately 60 years old in that doujin, the time where she would be dead if she was still human.[/spoilers]

Uh I think you got that wrong. If my memory serves me at the end the reason Marisa and Sakuya say she is the only one that deserves their respect or something along those lines was because she didn't become a yokai miko. But it's a little open ended since it doesn't tell you

I thought it was because Reimu was the only one person who could kill Sakuya. Which Sakuya requested if she ever became an empty shell from her life as a vampire.

It's not really guro if you consider the belief that vampire bites feel more sensuously stimulating than hurting like a bitch.

And it wasn't insanity, but more of a misguided compassion that drove Remilia to feed on Sakuya.

Let me go into detail;

I called it softcore guro because I didn't have a better word for it, and it still bothers me because even if it is supposed to be sensual, it's pretty bad. My opinion on vampires is that they're just a form of psychopath, just with biological assistance to the main end of hurting people. To that, I just don't like insanity. Maybe I like my morals too much, but that's a good thing, isn't it?

I was referring to that mindless spree that Sakuya took off on, by the way.

Yeaaah, i guess softcore guro is best way to describe it but it just doesn't seem to fit right because of the perception of what ppl interperit the word guro. Inanity is always a nice change of pace. Insanity can always be fun though!
