I usually hate to ask for recommendations, and I know this is a weird question, but between Asairo, Himawari, WA2, and Oretsuba, which is the most "fact paced"? Or rather, one that would suck you in and make you want to keep reading. I've found lately I have problems with finishing VNs in a timely manner. As in, I practically have to force myself, slowly, through the first half or so. I guess that's pretty common with any kind of fiction, but it feels more intense than usual. Except for moege for some reason, I can blaze through those.
Hell, it doesn't even have to be between those four, those were just the ones I was planning on reading anyway.

Lost Xmas was being translated into English but the people doing it seem to have just up and vanished. It's a bit sad really but that's what happens when you have bandwagon riders. Mediafire works fine still as long as you do something to get around the archive detection. I remember reading in the C83 discussions that you could just add something like .REMOVE_THIS at the end or use 7zip as it apparently(?) doesn't detect them. Some places also seemed to dodge it by putting the parts into individual archives which should work as well.

Or else just pick a random host like depositfiles, most of them honestly feel more or less the same to me unless someone else has a better idea.

I finished Aete which someone told me would be perfect to grind on. I barely finished it without resorting to edict abuse and while enjoyable for the most part I seriously wonder about one thing.
Was the 'conflict' in Minami's route supposed to be mind numbingly bad, or am I infering something that wasn't there? I've only read a couple of people who said anything about it on egs so I'm more likely to think that my lack of ability/experience in Japanese was making me see things that I shouldn't.

I was glad I pushed through it, but it almost made me drop it since the person who recommended it thought it was the second best route (not talking heroines who all had their good points).

I don't think that's the case, the philosophy and literature portions of Subahibi are really light in the grand scheme of things. The two things about it is that sometimes they're just thought excercises with loose affiliation to the plot (like "I can kind of see the correlation here, but I can't pin it down"), Subahibi does have outright nonsense (literal) in it for various plot/thematic reasons. Parts like that can also just be suggestions for obscure things, or just there for the sake of being there, Ayana's dialogue in particular ambiguates that line, and it's deliberate, Subahibi is denpa after all. Then the other part is that sometimes they're really entirely correlated, even though the correlation isn't always concretely stated, but you'll get the correlation when you're looking at the game or past events in retrospect. Rereading the game a second time a while later reveals tons of little hints and suggestions and metaphors that are too ambiguous to pick up unless you know what happens.

Then the rest of the lines are usually directly correlated, flat out nonsense, or point to something that happens somewhat immediately. I would recommend reading it lightly, it really isn't the most complex game by quite a long shot, and then looking up a lengthy review to cover any remaining questions you have.

Yeah, that's the only thing I have left. All I appear to be missing are two Saya-related CGs and one Saya h-scene variant. I tried looking up a walkthrough and apparently Saya has a few different endings, but I was only able to get one, plus a bad end. And now it doesn't let me back on her route.

I cannot forgive her.

At first I really sympathized with Lucia but when this scene came all my feelings for her were destroyed in an instant. The girl had no problem to carry out those scientist's orders. I knew that everything in that city would've been killed anyway even if she didn't agree to spread the poison, but that's not the point here. The military was going to nuke the town and the key would've been destroyed without Lucia's power. The best choice for her would've been to kill herself right after she left the shelter so that most of the people could've at least died a faster death without so much pain and fear.
She send everyone, even little kids and innocent animals straight to hell while only whining about her own selfish problems. Must've been nothing special for her to watch their skin mutate and pop open while screaming in agony. I bet even the kittens from the classroom scene suffered a horrible death because of her. Pulling the victim card wont help her at all to win back my sympathy for her. She was also a victim of those scientists but what she did was over the top. And one year after all of this happened Kotarou keeps staying by her side and she gets pampered in high-tech shelters and she still says it's her "punishment".

It's a shame because I liked her at the beginning, and now all I wish for is a choice to let Lucia die. If this VN was real and I was Kotarou, I would've killed her with my own hands if I had to. Even love has it's limits.
When unfair things like this happen in my games I cannot stay calm. It's unfair it's unfair it's unfair. Everything about this route is just unfair.

In the end she was really just a monster.

About the Himawari voice patch, it seems the videos won't play unless you update, so basically you have to install the latest update, it doens't matter, and then dump the files into the folder, that solves the problem.
I say this because I finished Aries route, damn good ending by the way, and the video that couldn't play caused problems. Otherwise just stuffing this http://www.mediafire.com/?5veq6om7cmz5czi in the plugin folder solves it.

Finished Renge's route in Canvas 3. Her route was pretty disappointing.

Most of the route was a "Guy gets too focused on something and starts pushing people away" scenario, with the protagonist getting frustrated over not being able to put out a good painting and snapping at everyone. Some time later, he realizes his stupidity and they make up. Nothing particularly special so far, although Renge did come off as a bit too dependant. If the protagonist ever seriously said that he hates her, her mind would probably break.

The rest of the route has the protagonist either be an incredibly dense dumbass or be in extreme denial. I honestly have no idea. Renge makes it obvious that she loves him as more than a brother, at one point explicitly saying that, but he keeps thinking otherwise. This part is basically spent with Renge being dere and the protagonist being a faggot as explained above. Their relationship doesn't move past this. The epilogue implied that they were closer, but not necessarily romantically. In a game of this type, this seems like a kick in the balls. This is the PSP version, so there's no H scenes, but one would be good since it would mean that they took a step on their relationship.

I'll play one last route and move on to Canvas 4. Meanwhile, I'm continuing Daitoshokan. I've also started Prima Stella, and the only thing I have to say so far is that Kusumi and her SD CGs melt my heart.

It's kind of like if you've been hungry for the whole day, when you finally eat something it will taste so much better than if you were full from the start. Still even though tsundere is pretty much my favorite archetype, some of them are way overdone and feel more like 90% annoying bitch with a dere side out of nowhere. The worst is when they go from extreme tsun to blushing blob within a few sentences. Many of the more recent ones in anime and VNs I just can't bring myself to like. Oh, I should mention I haven't started that game yet so I don't know that character.

That's the thing, the game is really old. The only place you can get it is from Nippon's amazon from some collector.

I want to play the game because the Opening song touched me, and I'm somewhat sentimental when it comes to music. Aside from that, I really don't have much interest in gore or hentai... but it's just a "gut feeling" that "I have to play it".
