To Westerners, Curse Makers are known as Hexers. The reason for this name change is unknown.

Other name changes include Paladin → Protector, and Swordsmsn → Landshark.

Those classes are not as good as the Curse Maker.

get an idea of what characters & builds you should have, its a great game to play even without internet access (I did that with EO2), you won't really need maps till the last stratum of the game which is optional.

in the case of EO a general Idea of what kind of party does well is good since the game is very short on explaining the skills and what they do.

Well, pretty much every final fantasy game requires you to play with a guide or you'll miss out on all the secret stuff. I'm glad you can play most Atlus rpgs without one.

>> No.1031359

>>1031352
You don't really need to GRINDAN much if you have a good party composition, but it might be good at the start nonetheless, cause thats the hardest time of the game really.

I think you'll have a hard time finding EO1 in the US now since it was limited to 30000 copies or something, I bought the EU one 2 weeks ago since it just came out here.

music wise EO1 beats 2 by a small margin, gameplay wise EO2 is a lot better even tough the post game is just as cruel as EO1.
the strata are certainly more interesting in EO2 except for the 5th one, where EO1 clearly beats the second game.

Curse 7
Torpor 5
Revenge 10

Now what?

>> No.1031391

>>1031379
you really should NOT try to fight FoEs in the 1st stratum. you can kill them with an alchemist & the poison skill and some luck, but its not terribly reliable. Most of them move on set paths, learn them and avoid them. Around the 3rd stratum or the 4th one you usually can easily take on FoEs unless its 2 or 3 of them at once.

I basically avoided FoEs in EO2 completely until the 3rd stratum since they were just too mean to bring down until I had some of the "good" skills maxed out.

>> No.1031394

EO 1 & 2 are split up into 6 stratas , each 5 floors.
for example, both games start of with a lush forest as the 1st stratum, the second one is a jungle in EO1 and a red autumn forest in EO2 etc. the music etc changes too of course.

>> No.1031427

yes.
but only later one, I didn't start to learn it till the 50's with my characters mostly.

HP up rewrites your characters HP table, it may not add much at first, but at 10 it's 145% of the original HP, so it makes quite a difference. TP UP is even 192% at 10.

If you have a War Magus you may want to drop Torpor and get the curse skill and cursecut and transfer on the war mage for infinite TP.

>> No.1031484

>>1031394
Not necessarily. If you equip a few items that boost your max HP (or use one of the Troubadour's songs which does something similar) you can still do a heck of a lot of damage even at a low level.

>> No.1031499

Oh well, I still highly recommend EO2 since the game is a lot more accessible.

Also resting "only" takes 5 levels now instead of 10, and retiring at level 30 is a really good idea in the game since it gives you +4 to all stats and 4 free skill points. getting from 15 to 30 again isn't that hard either.
