I've been learning more as I paint this thing. The hardest thing is to get the damn colors to match.

I remember I saw a picture of this thing I'm painting before, and I'm trying to remake it from memory, in case anyone in this thread has the picture and can post it so that I can get a better idea.

Now that I think about it, that door is really crooked and I need to fix it. I'll work on it tomorrow.

You should layout reference lines and gridding for the perspective in addition to your object lines. Do not be afraid of re-penciling them in either. Just avoid wax pencils (most color pencils are this) or inks. Water color pencil is ok but keep in mid it will mix and blend on you. Painting is very different from a pc use washes and full coverage over areas do not paint by number by filling in sections at a time.

If I was working a scene like this I would have started by painting the dirt on the entire canvas then adding the plantings around then I would grid it in pencil and do the rough out in pencil or watered down pigment (depends on your medium and preference) Then paint in the decking/porch and most of the building, then the interior and finally Marisa. All while working from values of dark to light. Likely Id blob Marisa in in the dark values and lighten her up as I went as a whole.
Solution to matching up colour do entire sections at a time. Use extenders to retard dry times (appears your using acrylics) Also never start a section you cannot finish in one go.

Search up some vids on youtube. EXP acrylics and oils. Some techniques and stuff wont translate but most will. Mostly it is working time with the medium.

Ok, I lied it is 3'X2' configured for vertical hanging. (angled wood on the back for a cleat hangar)
No guarantees though. Shocked most of my stuff is still good, no mold on the modeling paste and gels.

because that shit is old, only the stuff in the box is paid for. The easel was made of scraps. And yes back in 1999 a tablet far exceeded the cost of this shit easily. Try 600USD for a decent size unit. They did not have cheap bamboos then.

What is pictured is maybe $200 total. Hell those Japanese mags in the bg cost more.

Most important you do not need what I have to start painting. This is a collection after required courses in uni and a few jobs requiring the materials. My collection is modest at best compared to colleagues I have worked with.

A tablet will never replace physical materials. It can mimic but cannot replace especially in technique and handling.
