Do TDCG models converted with tso2pmd/tso2pmx lack or lose some face bones in the conversion? When loading a motion file, the TDCG conversions don't seem to smile or move their eyebrows like standard MMD models. See the Tewi in the 2nd post for an example.

I'm assuming fixing/rigging the models to meet MMD specs would be difficult for someone who can't read Japanese.

it's not hard to use, but the answer depend on your goal. if you just want to see a girl dance, it's fun and very easy. animating your own motion, or creating videos with lot of effects, takes time.

effects take some time to learn, but actually operating MMD is very simple. there's not much beyond basics, but using basics to make something good yourself is what's difficult.

mmm has more function. mmd has only very basics function, and they function almost the same, but once you get beyond basics at all, MMM is much better.

however, MMM's features could confuse a beginner, so maybe starting MMD is better. also, they are not much benefit if you do not animate yourself(if you just want to watch other people's motion they have not much meaning). MMM is also in development, so may run slower or have bugs.

I may be an idiot, but does anyone care to explain how you use TAHHair to insert the hair colors in NJXA3? I tried just copy-pasting, but I get an error about it missing files that way.

Actually I seem to just fail at TAHhair altogether. Got a tah file to successfully compile for the NJXA 3 hairs but it doesn't show up in game.

-Converted all the bmp files to 128x128 PSDs and put them in the icons folder.
-Put the original BMPs in the Image_Kami folder
-Created 25 more copies of the cgfx, named them appropriately and put them in the Cgfx_kami folder.

Ran the program, it compiles, nothing shows up. What did I do wrong?

I'll give you that 3DCG is much more difficult to install. As far as actually using it though, all I have to do is click pictures - and finding pictures to click online is pretty easy.

MMD I have to worry about physics, bones, external programs (pmdeditor, metasequioa) and such if I want any level of customization, which is somewhat necessary if you don't want stock models since the entire community seems to have gotten into a "Look what models I have that you don't." sort f thing.
