By the end he proposes an alternative theory that doesn't break any of the red truths presented and actually fits into the story (although through some improbable means), under the basis that R07 did stick to rigid logic.

>> No.10018850

>>10018824
Actually, he said in an interview that Battler could have not written one, George could have stolen it, or Kyrie could have even asked him to write for the cousins specifically so he didn't write one to Shannon. He was completely ambiguous and was just offering suggestions, saying that it all depends on which characters you feel love for. If you feel love for Battler, then it wasn't his fault. If you feel love for George, it wasn't his either. And so on.

Makes you wonder if he even came up with a real answer to that.

>> No.10018860

>>10018805
>but I can't remember where this was hinted.
George was jealous of Battler and trying to move in on his girl. That's gone over several times in the story. Once you have that, the fact that George was the one to hand out all the letters can be called into question.

>> No.10018869

Has anyone pointed out that he basically took the setup for Umineko from Christie's "A Holiday for Murder?" Not the magic and shit obviously, but the general notion of the type of cast, the way they're brought together and isolated, a handful of names, the patriarch's personality, and some general similarities as to the nature of the family's wealth all line up a little too well for me to feel that it's entirely cooincidence.

He gives an explicit nod to a lot of things, I mean, he was playing with the genre tropes and even mentioned the sets of rules for mystery from the Golden Age, but I thought it was interesting that he drew on one Christie novel so extensively for the setup.

Because the story is overwhelmingly in favor of what that guy is trying to deny. It's a conspiracy theory level hypothesis that tries to undermine everything for the sake of logical accuracy, I could get that just for the first part of the first video. There are a few points that deny Rosa being Beatrice, but he would probably call these points deceptions, and I certainly don't want to go into the finer details, considering how I've discussed the series here ad ad nauseum.

>> No.10018947

>>10018910

But doesn't Aurora state that readers should be actively engaged in the mystery and to try and solve it instead of waiting for the big reveal at the end? Doesn't this point to imply that the Yasu stuff is just another red-herring?
But there i go talking about logical accuracy, so what do you think the real answer is then?

>> No.10018987

>>10018947
I would say that the answer for the first 4 episodes is Yasu as the culprit. I don't know about episode 5 and 6, they're very vague. The real truth - what actually happened - I think is similar, though perhaps not exactly the same as, the episode 7 tea party. I don't even know if Ryu07 planned a full truth for the actual events, because, compared to the message bottle mysteries, it's focused on much later, and if someone really wanted to they could deny pretty much anything and explain it as only occurring in the fake message bottles and not in the true events. At least, Ange's reaction to the diary and a couple of sequences in that seen hidden in the code suggest that Kyrie and Rudolf are the culprits, and they met Shannon in the room with the gold, just like the episode 7 tea party.

I’ve come here to enlighten you all. This was all confirmed by Higurashi’s sound novels many years ago:

-Furude Rika: weird girl from Hinamizawa who can see Hanyuu. Her personality is killed when Frederica Bernkastel enters in a new world and possesses her body.

-Frederica Bernkastel: Rika after countless deaths and Higurashi’s main character. She is given her name in Saikoroshi-hen (her poems appeared since the first arc, but they were written by Frederica after the end of the series). She also “vanishes” in the same arc (Saikoroshi-hen) in order to become Rika (the weird little girl, unaware of kakeras) again.

This is left to interpretation in Umineko:

-Higurashi was a “game” between Lambda and Featherine. Featherine was the Game Master and Hanyuu was her piece. Lambda’s piece was Takano Miyo.

-Witch of Miracles, Bernkastel: I'll talk about her in the next post.

>> No.10019483

>>10019478
There are two theories about Umineko Bernkastel, it’s like a small catbox:

1) She is our well known Frederica Bernkastel after separating herself from Rika’s body, thus leaving behind her human emotions and becoming a witch. Her name is just Bernkastel now, since she has nothing to do with Rika anymore. “I’m not Furude Rika, you are a fool if you thought so”. (I believed this theory before reading Higurashi, but I don’t like it anymore)

>> No.10019486

>>10019483
2) She is the “meta-Rika” where Hanyuu placed all of Rika’s memories after each death. A human mind cannot possibly carry hundreds of years of memories, that’s why Frederica (and Hanyuu) couldn’t remember every single minute of her past lives. That’s why Frederica (always called Rika by anime-only fans) seems to be incredibly wise between her death and the new world, because she is “meta-Rika” during that time and can access all her memories of a hundred years, without the limitations of a human brain.

That’s why she forgot that Takano was the culprit at the beggining of Minagoroshi-hen. At the end of that arc, her new memories were transferred to this “meta-Rika” like always and she possessed the Rika from the final kakera (Matsuribayashi-hen). Frederica won in this world and was eventually put by Hanyuu into a dream-like world known as “Saikoroshi-hen”, where she learned many things before returning to her previous world. Then, she decided to behave like the little girl she should be and stop being Frederica Bernkastel. Thanks to Hanyuu’s powers, she cut her ties with the metaworld (meta-Rika) and lived a normal life.

Meta-Rika, aka Bernkastel, was left alone after her human version (Frederica) defeated Takano. Her last memories (the last time she was updated, so to speak) were those of Minagoroshi-hen (and it’s implied that she used her power of Miracles to create the miraclous kakera called Matsuribayashi-hen).

I really like this second approach. This is the bitch who toyed with Beatrice’s gameboard, the one who painted Kyrie as a complete monster in the minds of most readers. Our beloved Frederica Bernkastel (who probably “vanished” after she decided to become Rika again) is totally innocent!

That's all.

>> No.10019490

Shannon didn't fucking have DID. She was just ACTING as Kanon in the gameboards. She doesn't actually have two personalities.

In the real world (Prime), the only people who ever saw Kanon were Jessica's classmates.

Jessica asked Shannon to disguise herself as a boy so she could have "a boyfriend" and not be ridiculed by her friends. Hell, she needed it. She had already said to them that she had one.

Kanon's clothes were big and weird, this is probably to hide Shannon's boobs. Yeeeeah, she had big tits in Prime.

So, Kanon never existed. No one ever saw him in the island. Shannon never cosplayed as him.

Shannon added Kanon (Shannon disguised as a guy) as a character in the message bottles because she felt bad for the lonely Jessica. In these stories, Shannon had been living as Shkanon for years with Genji's help. She couldn't decide what of these two lifes she liked better.

But she was ACTING as two different people with different lives, she didnt fucking have DID, god damn. No one is delusional in this story, for god's sake. Natsuhi? Ange? They don't actually SEE their imaginary friends or kinzos with their eyes, they aren't crazy! God damn, people, stop being so dumb.

>> No.10019493

It's NOT DID. People are retarded and can't fucking understand this, so they say shit like: "HURR SHKANON IS RETARDED DURR DID DONT WORK THAT WAY LOL NO ONE NOTICED LOL"

She is just acting, for god's sake. Kanon and Shannon almost never are in the island the same day. It's only on big events like the family conference. Also, Genji helps her to keep "being Kanon" without the family noticing (schedules and shit). She wants to fucking act as a boy because she's fucking weird, that's all.

Prime-Yasu never cosplayed as Kanon. The only time when Kanon was actually seen by ANYONE in Prime was in Jessica's school festival. Look at that ugly clothes Kanon wears. They are that way to hide Shannon's boobs. Jessica asked Shannon to act as her boyfried. Shannon said "okay, I'll be a guy called Kanon, remember that name Jessica-sama".

After that, she added Kanon in the message bottles because she felt pity for the lonely Jessica.
All the shit I said about "Shannon acting as Kanon during years with Genji's help" only happened in the message bottles' world and in the forgeries of Tohya.

All the other forgers didn't know the truth and added Kanon as a normal character in their forgeries.

THE FUCKING DID THING IS RETARDED, I CAN'T FUCKING UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GUYS CAN'T LET IT GO. GAMEBOARD-YASU LIKES TO ACT AND HAS GENDER ISSUES, LEAVE HER ALONE WITH HER INNOCENT ACTING.

By the way, Jessica's death probably ruined her friends' school lives. Just imagine it. Your energetic, radiant and rich friend dies in a big explosion "along with her boyfriend Kanon" (from their perspective).

They must have felt like shit. Hell, fuck Ange. Gohda's parents and the owner of that shop where Maria bought shit every night must have felt like shit for not knowing the truth about the incident.

>> No.10019503

>>10019493
Another point to prove my theory:

Japanese people look all the same. It's not THAT weird for Gameboard-Shannon and Gameboard-Kanon to fool Gameboard-Jessica.

As I stated in my theory, she is the only one who needs to be fooled. Every other person living in the island doesn't pay much attention to the servants. And for Jessica, well:

-They look the same because Japan.
-Jessica is friends with Shannon and admires Kanon from the distance (she talks with him a few times, but not very often). Their relationship only grows or even begins during the last family conference.
-Kanon went to the festival "because Shannon convinced him", it's not like Jessica and him were close or anything.

This is all for Gameboard-Jessica, of course. The real one (in my theory) only saw Kanon once, during the festival, and it was all plotted by herself and Shannon. He was just a fake character for her, only useful to fool her friends when they asked about him.

Some people may find this to be bad writting and all that crap, but I actually like it a lot. Kanon becomes a tragic character whose existence was just barely proven in the real world (Jessica's friends) and still very dibious.

Hell, that was the whole point of his sacrifice in EP6. By using Shkanon to solve the logic error (all planned by Battler, BTW), the true nature of Kanon is exposed to Erika and the (slower) readers, making him a very pitiful character.

PS: No, Maria wasn't delusional either. She didn't see Sakutaro with her own eyes. She didn't actually believe in his existence. She just was too attached to the toy and liked to play with it. She is autistic, not retarded.

And no, Batora didn't make everything up. The metaworld was real, the gameboards were his books and most of the information didn't come out of his head. Take the EP7 for example. It was all meta, no one wrote it.

Kanon snuck out through the windows in EP6 while Erika was sealing the doors (and/or getting the ladder to seal the windows), let battler out, hid in the closet, and then Erika came in like a ho and shot through the closet, killing him, so he was technically no longer there.

Plus, when battler and beatrice said that even if she joined, they'd only have 17 people is because Erika only appears on Rokkenjima as a corpse from having drowned after falling into the sea.

Do as you please with your own forgeries, but don't try to deny Shkanon in the actual episodes. Sayo wrote two tales where Shkanon was real and no one noticed. It's not that hard to believe, read the giant copypastas.

And even if you have a problem with that, it doesn't make the story inconsistent. Sayo-Prime wrote that shit, she created that world where Shkanon had good luck and no one ever noticed anything. The story was in her head, and it made sense for her. That's all.

>EP6 ending

18 humans = 16 normal humans (including Sayo) + Kinzo + Erika (corpses are still human).

17 people = 16 normal people + Kanon (everyone acknowledges him as a real person, it's not like Beatrice's situation. At all. Kanon's existence is guaranteed with the "gold truth"). Kinzo and Erika aren't people anymore, just silent corpses.

This doesn't mean that Erika was fake in EP5 and EP6. She actually survived in those tales. The red at the end of EP6 was about Beatrice's original gameboard, about Erika's status in the original tale. She was dead there.

Well, there's no proof for a Kyrie culprit theory. Rokkenjima is a huge crater. Maybe Eva saw Kyrie killing the real (and unimaginable) culprit and misunderstood everything.

Or maybe there is a different reason for Ange's reaction after reading the diary. It could be the classic "everything was a fake murder game that went wrong". It's a silly way to lose your whole family, I would be upset too and believe in Evatrice instead.

>Isn't that just something foreigners believe?
Well, maybe they don't look exactly the same, but... Just look at two random Japanese people, they "look the same" way more than two random western people.

About the "accepted facts", I didn't know that. I always see butthurt goats everywhere calling Ryukishi a faggot, and they never even consider those possibilities.

And that's another thing I don't get. Why the fuck is everyone so upset about "Ryukishi calling them goats"? The characters in the story are either fantasy or idealizations of real people, so it's just natural that they want to defend themselves from the "goats" who want to uncover the truth.

The haters are just using this as a excuse to blame Ryukishi.

I do not like Umineko. I do not like Higurashi. I do not like R07.

Even a blind man could deduce that, while obviously having a great deal of variety in personal appearance, it is less than exists among the large umbrella group of "Western people."

How many hair colors do the Japanese have? How many eye colors do the Japanese have? Do some Japanese have freckles?

They objectively exhibit less physical variation than exists in more racially-mixed societies.
