I don't give a shit. The content is still there and in my way, and why would I strip mine for hours (best part of the game) if I can build a quarry or a robot? It's basically like cheating. I know there's a cut off point and you can already spawn items in vanilla Minecraft, but if everyone else on the server is doing all this shit and has a huge advantage even over the vanilla game, you pretty much have to take part in it.

Plus it really needs condensing. There are duplicate items. And so many of the authors completely miss the point that Minecraft deals in abstractions. Sticks + metal = tools. You don't need a Stick Smoothing Machine made of Cast Iron built using Carbon you got from a Carbon Extractor which was made from a Machine Block which was made of Refined Iron and Electronic Circuits ad infinitum just to make the handle. It's artificial bullshit and whenever I see the recipes I can just imagine some teenage mod creator missing the point and saying, "Yeah, well, MY mod is going to have THESE items! It definitely needs to be this specific and use this particular material that exists only for my mod!"

Tekkit is a huge clusterfuck.
It can be balanced, but for that you need to disable like 40% of the content and there is always discussion which specific things are to be disabled.
So, if the admin doesnt want to fuck around tweaking tekkit configs, just drop i altogether.
Plus its not compatible with 1.4.2 minecraft, and 1.4.2 has some nice features.

However, any other plugins? I'd really love to see lwc or some other simple anti-grief plugin that'd let me build a nice house without fearing that some fuckface loots and destroys it.

Lots of items ignore anti-PvP and anti-grief protections, so these have to be disabled as well.

Want to have any semblance of balanced economy? Disable majority of EE and nerf some other shit.

BC pipes often cause lags due to item owerflows.
Large cobblestone factories can lag the server, so do large automatic mob farms that are not 100% efficient at picking up exp orbs.

Disabled EE? Now the economy is gonna be fucked by solar arrays+ mass fabricators. The gains are still exponential, just much slower than in EE.
