Shibuya sucks. People are insufferable, and it's not the cool place to be anymore like in the 90's.
Akihabara is still the best place to find otaku stuff if you know the good shops. It's sadly not as good as before, and tourism is a plague, but spitting on the whole district is hipster behaviour.
Ikebukuro is boring as fuck. Never understood the appeal.
Asakusa is a great place to take it easy.
Shinjuku is the best, even if it can be a bit daunting.

I went to Akiba today. And I paid 1000yen( 8 dollars )to get the right of ''a slap on my cheek'' from meido whom i chose. All people in meido cafe looked at me.Its simply embarrasing

Tokyo is a metropolitan area like NYC so it does have areas such as this. Living in Akiba Shibuya etc. is not a good ideal because they are mainly commercial and not suited to living. It is better to live in an area approximately 30-90 minutes away by subway/taxi in order to have proper living conditions, yet be close enough to buy goods when wanted.
