so btooom is held on an island where a bunch of people who are hated by other people for whatever reason (some explained eventually, some not) are sent to battle it out in real life. btooom is a video game and a few of the players on the island were players of the game. the btooom part comes from the fact they're all using little grenades. there are a bunch of types like contact explosive, time delay, seeker, vortex, remote control. they also all have little radar devices which helps them find each other when in close proximity.

anyway, once they realize they're trapped on a island some of the people go nuts and do things they wouldn't dream of in real life. in this case you have fat ass here wanting to rape this teenager. he dies. for that matter, a lot of people die over the course of the series. also the girl is more or less ingame married to the main character. i don't remember if the guy knows it but the girl does. the only way to get off the island is to gather enough of the radar things (chips implanted in the hand). so you have to kill or scavenge enough of them. eventually you run into one guy who got sent to the island, got enough chips, ran off, and got sent back again because he managed to make someone else pissed off at him. i don't remember how the whole election process goes but it seems a little silly that all these people in real life know how to submit names to it.
