I'm just interested...

Which single person has the biggest influence on the whole otaku culture in the west and east directly or indirectly?
I mean the whole culture around japanese 2D worlds (doujinshi, anime, manga, websites, VNs, everything 2D etc,etc...)

Is it ZUN? After all, he created Touhou and it's characters, which spawned countless doujin works or boards like this one. Of course it's more the fanbase that created most of what came after the original works, but if ZUN didn't exist, Touhou wouldn't exist.

How much of an impact have seiyuu or mangaka on everything?

If you had to name only one person, who would it be? Who's existence is the most important for everything you love?

I think I made a little mistake while asking this question.

What I really wanted to know is who *will* have the biggest influence on the future of 2D worlds and otaku culture. Or to phrase it differently, who would be the biggest lost if he died?
I doubt the named guys will do that much in the future

Why do people keep thinking that ZUN is some sort of celebrity? He's not popular, and the majority of the people in Japan wouldn't know him or Touhou.
