I hope the 500X500 is just a downscale. If not work larger and extend your canvas, you can always crop it later to the look you want. I tried like hell to draw how I got the forms and shape. Maybe doing it in steps might be easier to see?
Anyhow the shoulder arm and hand positions were all a bit odd along with the neck position. So draw the underlying bits of body then place clothing on top. Since it is digital this is much easier to deal with than on paper. This way you can make sure all the bits align up.

I would actually alter her head position to better bring the gaze towards her hands direction. I worked the pose like she is pointing at something.

A quick overdraw with corrections, face is vertically stretched, I almost want to say check your tablet settings to make sure it is mapped 1:1. EXP after seeing the flockdraw stuff. But the ear and such are placed oddly. Overdraw your image on a new layers and it should bring out what you need to do to correct it.

Names? google up some stuff on flowers and locate a fun historical flower name or something related to flowers.

depends on your tablet. With a wacom it is in the tablet properties, it should be in your programs list in the start menu or on control panel. Mac I think it is in system settings or something. Inside the app there is a tab for mapping and a check box for force proportions, this should allow it to map 1:1 with no vertical or horizontal distortion.
Never used anything not wacom so I cannot help much with addesso or other brands.

Don't worry about it looking like shit. Don't compare yours with other people's. If anything look at your drawings vs your old drawings and say "Hey I'm getting better" rather than looking at your art and looking at Da Vinci's and saying "Hey I really suck".

Use different artists as role models instead. Find art you like, and try to figure out what they're doing that you're not, and try to do that.

Cut me some slack bb. It's only been a month and a half since I started taking drawing seriously. Mechs and dragons and stuff are hard to mess up because I can do whatever I want. My characters are trying to catch up and they will. I've made a lot of progress with them over the past month.

I'm also not trying to rush it. I want my characters to look original, so I'll just keep implementing what I learn from anatomy sketches and portrait drawings until they reach there.

Nah, I'm pretty sure inhumane things are much easier to design than humans. I'm not here to be corrected by you. Fantasy humans are much more related to normal humans than dragons and monsters are to animals. Not only that, I'm actually trying to get a certain look out of my humans. If I wanted to draw perfectly life like human beings or anime, I can go follow a flowchart and do so in a matter of weeks. I do not enjoy drawing that way so I'll just keep sketching stuff out. Have you considered that the only reason you're complaining about my humans is because it takes much more effort to make pleasing version of them?

My mech actually has many design flaws I can point out instantly. I intent to correct them, sure, but I can still make you say "that looks nice" even though it's design is flawed. You cannot find pleasure in my humans because your idea of a good humanoid is much more solid than one of a mech.

If you really are trying to tell me the same restrictions apply for creating both a cute female and a dragon, then I'll just agree to disagree.

It's because they are princesses that they're not allowed to interact with the outside world, rather than by choice though. Ask yourself what you want to draw and try to draw it. At the first moment you want to exclaim "holy shit I don't know how to draw that!" start drawing "that", until you figure out how to do it.
Seriously, if you won't start trying to draw what you can't, you won't be able to learn.
Anatomy, shading, geometry - its all will help you to understand faster in what direction you should head to. But you can't just stock up on books and figure out after a while how to make a non-retarded line in one move. Sitting around and telling yourself that you can't draw just yet because you didn't study enough of this and that is silly.
Also don't be like >>9923434 and don't stop after one failure, if you really want to learn. Learning in most cases involves making thousands of horrible mistakes you'd rather forget. Thanks to digital painting, you don't need to actually store tons of dirty paper sheets that hold your pathetic learning history.

That's mostly opinion. There's a lot of styles that revolve around extremely muted shadows and low contrast. I can see the difference from flat colors, so there's depth, if not much.

go backwards dump a color down as a backdrop then paint the darks in over everything then add highlights. Look at how light is treated on skin etc like how a blotch of light glows as it illuminates inside of the skin etc. Also look at how shadows play, google "shadow core" I think these thought processes should get you past the blocking in anime like shadows.

Just posting this because I have no one to critique my stuff, usually too embarrassed to show it to anyone but I want to take all the help I can get to get better.

I just started drawing a few months ago and I'm running through anatomy books (loomis etc) before I do anything else. I try to draw for least one hour every day.

A book tells me I should do at least 25 gesture drawings every day, so thats what I'm trying to do. The top drawings are things I made between 30secs - 1 min (these frustrate me to no end), and the bottom ones are the ones I made in about 10-15 min each.
