Does it make a difference for you?

Yes, I do better with a controller. I'm not very good in general, though.

The good old reliable Logitech F310 is what I use if I feel like using a controller to play my 2hus. Otherwise I just use the keyboard. It feels good, but I wonder what games offer true analog control. I understand that arcade shmups have 8-way sticks, but I think it'd be a nice change.

Do they still sell these? Is there a new logitech equivalent? Because only ones I can find in store are new models that don't look like the precision and I'm afraid they have shit dpads like the xbox controllers.

>> No.9903654

>>9903636
Actually Seimitsu sticks are the preferred ones for SHMUPs and they are a bit tighter than Sanwa

Overall it is just preference, seimitsu have a shorter throw distance and a harder spring, while sanwa have a longer throw distance and softer spring.

On the button side of things, sanwa are extremely sensitive and can be pressed just by gliding your finger over them gently, and seimitsu are a bit less sensitive that you can rest your fingers on them without pressing them

Just tried xbox 360 controller today.
moving with the left stick > arrow keys
You have to get used to it first.
x = shoot
a = bomb
I like that these two are in a row because I can reach the bomb faster than if b would be bomb.
rb = slow

Is it comfortable to use?. It doesn't seem you can make perfect circles using the analog.

>>9903255
This one is great, I got it like 2 months ago. The damn thing copies the xbox controller button layout, and uses the dualshock design. I wonder if they ever had legal problems.

And there are some shumps I can't play using a controller, and Touhou is one of them.

My proficiency in DDP, DF, and Progear went up by 47,68%, though.
